Fine performance today, and some fabulous football. Yet more injuries to contend with and we bounce back with further additions from Steve's magic book. I must admit to being a mite worried when SK made the substitutions with a while to go , and it seemed to disrupt our shape a bit. But just a blip.
Overall I thought Gloucester were pretty decent. They had two good chances to go 2-2. Wilks made a couple of VERY good saves to keep our advantage. Dont know about you lot but I thought we missed Mills today. I think his hold up play makes it stay up top. That is not Coombes or Patersons game. Christ!!! I am finding faults. We are on top of this fecking league.
Excellent result. Thought Gloucester bossed a lot of the game but were toothless up front. Thought we were pretty comfortable and going forward we looked like we had more goals in us. Liked LGhoul who tormented them massively and the new guy Patterson was all over them like a rash, midfield was solid enough and Kirenan ran the show and scored an excellent goal.
Only my second game after a lot of years, enjoyed it, will be back
Welling worthy winners , fast attacking side. Punished our errors. Second goal being a sublime free kick into the left side from their player of the match. He was a different class.
Having said that we never gave up and for the armchair critics I thought Edgy, Spence and in particular Lidds had good games. I think we met the league winners today. the new number 9 André Wright looks a very useful unit and it is a long time since we have had a giant centre forward with his ability. I was also impressed by Harry the Rovers loanee who looks very confident for his age. Enjoyed my day out anyway.
Great to bounce back from the disappointment of Woking the week before with a good win against a team who I think are better than their current league position suggests.
It wasn't the greatest performance I have ever seen and the last 20 minutes was poor probably down to having the game won and switching off and possibly a little bit of complacency as well..?? We played some nice stuff on the floor in the first half not least with the early goal and some of the passing was excellent. The (latest) new lad in midfield Agyemang looked neat and tidy and it remains to see how much of a part he has to play. I was also impressed with Paterson on his debut as he worked hard, put himself about and took his goal very confidently - if we can provide the chances I can see him scoring quite a few for us. The two wide lads were a threat as always. As has been said elsewhere L'Ghoul is on fire at the moment and I think the last three right backs he has faced have all been substituted before the end of the game! If he can add goals and assists on a more regular basis then he is going to be a even bigger threat and we should enjoy him at PVR while we still can...! Kiernan's goal return for a wide player has been something else and there was a nice assist for the third goal as well. One player that may have been overlooked of late is Mandy - I thought he has been very consistent of late and again broke the play up on Saturday and gave it to the more creative players around him. Credit to the back four for nearly getting another clean sheet and also not forgetting Dan Wilks who made a couple of very important saves at 2-0 early in the second half which might have put a different complexion on things if they had scored at the time.
A tough game awaits tomorrow evening at another in form team in St Albans. I sense that some of my fellow Wings fans are getting a little carried away looking at the league table over the weekend - whilst we are clearly well in the mix and still capable of improvement there are some big teams not far behind and of course the big spenders from Essex who aren't going away any time soon. However there is no reason why we can't go there tomorrow night and get another positive result and hopefully there will be a decent turnout of Welling fans there to cheer the lads on.

Probably, not very much. He is at Bournemouth at the moment and is playing for their U23s (I think) on Wednesday so he won't be available on Tuesday night.
