U16 League Cup Semi Final

The Under 16's meet Thamesmead Town yet again in a Cup competition, this time in the Semi Final of the League Cup.  The match takes place at Thamesmead Town F.C, Bayliss Avenue. Thamesmead on Sunday and it kicks off at 11am.

This will be the 4th meeting between the clubs this season and the matches so far have all been well contested with the results getting better for Welling each time.  The teams last met in mid March in the League where Thamesmead are unbeaten.  It was a closely contested match which ended in a 1-1 draw and it has to be said that Welling had the chance to inflict Thamesmead's the first defeat, however, it was not to be.

It promises to be a good match and I'm sure the lads would appreciate some support, so if you're not too hung over how about comiing along.

Lost  4-0.

Honours shared 1st half with Thamesmead taking first 20 and Welling last 20 and no goals.

Welling gifted Thamesmead a goal right at the start of the second half and despite a few promising moves failed to make any impact any impact themselves.  2nd and 3rd goals well taken and Welling heads were down. 4th goal unlucky keeper parried ball went to Thamesmead player who snapped up the opportunity to score.  Welling did put pressure on in the closing minutes but failed to find the net.

After going in at half time on top it was a very disappointing second half.
