Great win, second half we were much better and the introduction of Mills made all the difference. For me, you just cant leave him out of the team. He is such an awkward player for defenders to go up against and he just brings others into the final third with his headers and hold up play. Assist and a goal fully deserved. Only downside waa the goal we conceded, all we had to do was put the ball out for a throw. Number of times I have seen players go to usher the ball out only to lose it and concede a goal. The young lad at right back on loan from Millwall was very impressive and was also my pick for MOTM. Nassim was top notch and not for the first time had no protection from the ref and eventually went off after being targeted all game. Top of the league, lovely jubbly!
Great result and much improved second half. I thought Bradley Goldberg had his best game all season and the referee must have had his worst- he gave obvious throw ins the wrong way, let number 8 boss the game, offered no protection to Nassim (how many times?) and even the lino pulled him up about the stonebonk corner.
Mills came on and proved the point about why he should start. All round nuisance to the opposition and 100% player.
Both strikers ran themselves ragged and Mills is a great impact sub who took advantage of a tiring Hungerford. Defence wasnt troubled at all apart from shocking defending that led to their equaliser. For me our problem is midfield - individual players who all want to do it themselves and continually lost the ball, It was infuriating today, that and the woeful delivery of corners and free kicks, not getting past the first defender was a awful! For me probably the poorest game Ive seen.
That said, we won three one and are top of the league!! Maybe I just need to be a bit more positive!!
Mills is far more than an impact sub. Good to see Kissock back in midfield and he didnt look like he had been away at all. Wasnt great but I think we have plenty in the tank, and were top!
I thought we were decent 1st half without tearing up trees. Brad took his goal very very well. Brilliant finish. Well done to him he looked very lively throughout his stay on the pitch. 2nd half apart from the odd counter attack we were easily on top. They didn't have a single attempt on our goal 2nd half which tells a story. I must admit to being very worried lately about how we are coping without Jack Jebb. Lets face it we are much much better with him but looking to replace him is futile. JPK isn't the answer nor is Ageymang. SK has to come up with something.. Dont know how he can produce a Jack Jebb replacement from a thin air though.. BUT BUT. BUT...Danny Mills affects games.. I thought it was a brilliant stroke by SK not to play him from the start. Because he made all the difference when he came on. SK Knows his Onions .......WE ARE TOP OF THIS FECKING LEAGUE.........WELL DONE STEVE KING AND HIS STAFF. WELL DONE PLAYING SQUAD..

Kissick wasnt great?
Couldnt agree more. He is punching by at least two levels.
Worst player in a Welling shirt and shouldn't gave made it out for the second half.

Harsh. Very harsh. Not one of this squad could be described as the worst player in a Welling shirt. IMO. Our squad has put us top of this league. Lets dont start slagging individuals off. Be happy. Billericay are not top. Woking are not top. Wankford are not top. We are!!!!! Happy days!

I wasnt referring to Kissock as wasnt great but our overall 90 minute performance. Second half much better and i think Kissock is ok.

Kissock has been out for a while, with a few games under his belt he will come good.

Another home game. Another three points. Top of the league on goal difference so nothing to moan about (although I can normally find something...!)
First half was largely a non event apart from a good move and excellent finish by Goldberg to put us in front. The equaliser on half time was very poor on our part - we might get away with conceding soft goals against teams like Hungerford and Weston but we won't get away with it against stronger sides in this league. There were a couple of warning signs of sloppiness before that goal and, whilst the manager wants us to play out for the back, there is a time and a place and deep in your on half on the stroke of half time is not that place..
I sense that the manager had one or two "words" at half time as the whole tempo was quicker in the second half. We moved the ball better and got overloads down the wings and looked a much better team for it. JPK is a decent player but in the first half he took five or six touches on the ball and either lost possession or slowed the play down. In the second half he kept it much simpler and was more effective as a result. I am a big Mills fan and am surprised that he has been on the bench a few times lately but a goal off the bench against Wealdstone and a goal and an assist on Saturday proves that the manager knows what he is doing. I am not convinced two big men up front works and Goldberg certainly put in one of his best performances of the season and justified his selection. No argument from me about the motm and I have been very impressed with the young Millwall lad - sometimes loans from league clubs work out and sometimes they don't but he seems to be a good prospect who is fully committed and I hope we can extend the loan beyond the original month. I think we should congratulate Hungerford on two points - firstly for finally managing to kick L'Ghoul off the pitch (the last "tackle" by the number 6 would get you arrested outside of a football ground...) and especially to their number 8 who, despite already being the player/manager of the club, managed to also referee the game on Saturday...
Three tough away game on the spin now before Christmas with the first one at Torquay looking the hardest of the lot. I wonder if a tweak to 4-2-3-1 or 4-5-1 might serve us better away from home by being a bit more conservative but I will leave that up to the manager!
Although as mentioned they tried to ref the game and put in a few rather naughty challenges it's nice to see we have players who give it back and stand up for each other when needed. The last couple of years we have lacked the togetherness that brings that.
It wasn't Goldberg's best performance of the season, it was his best for almost 2 years, looked lively from the start, showed willingness to get on the ball and actually done something with it! Hopefully it continues.
Between now and January will show us where we really are, some tough games and a lot of points to be won or lost.

So it was his best performance of the season then...?! (Before Danson Mark gets in there first!)

I thought that it was his best performance since joining Welling so definitely his best of the season.
Five of my old cricket team mates came along to ensure that the gate didn't dip below 400 and they were all enthusing about Nassim L'Ghoul all evening. Danny McNamara was also outstanding so there were three solid candidates for man of the match.

Nass is amazing when he's got a run at someone. I think McNamara just edged MOM as he was superb at both ends, against Dulwich his final ball was poor but Saturday he got it spot on where as Nass had a couple of frustrating over hit crosses.
