Brilliant absolutely brilliant. Well done SK,staff and our squad (Whats left of it. Although we have added a couple) That is 5 away wins on the bounce isnt it. This group of management and players are outstanding. Our home form over the season has been the best. If we hadnt lost Jebb so early we would be top I reckon. When he got injured in October he had scored 4 and had 10 assists. We all know his loss affected us for a couple of months. But apart from a mid season blip we have been top drawer. I cant praise this TEAM AND MANAGEMENT enough. Take a bow. Brilliant.
The ability to win games with regular clean sheets when not always playing well is testament to their organisation and attitude. Not playing midweek should also help with injuries/ fatigue. Dartford/ Billericay struggling with staying in top 7
A fantastic win for us on Saturday against a team battling to stay up on a pitch that was difficult to play on. An excellent three points.
It was a brilliant corner from Gavin McCallum. He has been producing some great set pieces recently which we have really missed since Jebb's injury.
Julien Anu was fantastic in the second half. Mo Bettamer was very effective when he came on. Our squad suddenly looks quite big again with players coming into form.
We now have a great chance to finish 3rd and secure a home play off semi final.
COYW!

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh When the Wingssssss
Another 1-0 win ground out in difficult circumstances. I didn't go to Weston but it reminded me a lot of the game at Hungerford where the surface was dreadful and it was a game of very few chances. I think we had two clear chances from open play in the whole game on Saturday (Mills in the first half and Kiernan just after we had scored in the second) Having said that we restricted them to pretty much nothing. I can see why they have struggled to score goals but they don't concede heavily either. They have had goalless draws in recent weeks at home with Bath, Chelmsford and Wealdstone and it is not hard to see why on that pitch - it must be pretty soul destroying to have to play on that 20+ times a season.
At least the penny seems to have dropped in recent weeks and we are not trying to overplay on these difficult surfaces. It's all about results rather than performances and mistake free football and we are doing that pretty well at the moment. It wasn't that long ago we were lamenting the away form and now we have 5 away wins on the spin and only conceded one penalty over those 5 games as well! As has been said elsewhere the set pieces have improved in recent games and we could have scored from a couple in the first half before AA headed in the winner late on. I was quite impressed with the new lad up top as he appears to be a bit different to what we already have although I think Goldberg was maybe a bit unlucky to be hooked on Saturday?? Considering Bettamer, Ming and even Orlu have not played much football in the last month or so and we should be able to add back in Hill, Audel (and maybe even L'Ghoul...) to the group that played on Saturday then things suddenly look a whole lot healthier on the player front.
I was still praying that we could hang on for a top seven finish at the end of March (and the pessimist in me still is!) but now I am feeling a little more optimistic and hoping we can secure one (or more) home games in the play offs if we keep up the recent run of form. Of course Bath and Chelmsford are not going to roll over but we shouldn't fear anybody at PVR and, if we keep up the resilience of recent weeks, then we can get a few more points on the board yet.
