Nice to see Jebb back in the side and a good 45 mins on the pitch.
Think the side was carrying him however, and to see him in a starting position this season would be unrealistic.
That recent front signing, Mo? Shouldn't be starting our forthcoming game.
Did the Chairmans comments regarding the **** output at Thurrock prevent a Goldburg start?
Thought N Ghoul set the game alight with his cameo performance.
He can certainly get a game alight.
Tough decisions to be made by the manager for next Sunday's game.
But in my opinion, Jebb would simply be brought on to run the clock down.
I didnt see any evidence that the team was carrying Jack Jebb. For someone who hasnt played a competitive game for 7 months he didnt look out of place at all. IMO. Thank f@@k Nassim looks like hes back at it again. The down side was H&RB did their very very best to kick ****e out of him from the minute he came on. I like the look of Mo Bettamer. He puts a good shift in and took his goal well. Whether hes allowed to play in the playoffs Im not sure. Julian Anau is a lovely footballer. He was class when he came on too. A selection headache for SK next week. A really fantastic season. A bloody good decent, honest hard working skilful squad. A fantastic back room team and a outstanding manager who proved under very trying circumstances how good he is. No matter how we do in the playoffs this management and squad deserve all the praise that comes their way. Well done all. COYW.
It's strange how we all see it differently. I thought that Mo Bettamer was excellent and linked up well with Danny Mills. For the first time since injury, Nassim L'Ghoul was the old Nassim L'Ghoul for the first time since his injury.
On the downside, I thought that the behaviour of Hampton was a disgrace after they went four down and the could easily have finished with eight men on the pitch. It was just like the old Hampton.
To sum it up, not one of those Hampton players would improve Welling and every single Welling player would improve Hampton.
Hampton should have had several red cards but the ref treated it like a pre-season friendly. Their number 2 had four bookable offences alone and yet another hatchet job on Nas that only got a yellow. They started losing their heads towards the end of the game but at least their centre back (number 6?) tried to calm them down, fair play to him for that.
We looked good yesterday with Nas, Kiernan and McCallum tearing them apart down the wings. From Wilks to the forward line we looked very good and great to see Jebb back on the pitch. Mo improved as the game went on and gets in really good positions.
Very happy with the game on Saturday and the response to the East Thurrock defeat. Granted Hampton had nothing to play for but nor did we in reality and I felt we won with a fair bit in hand. I was getting a bit concerned towards the end when they were kicking lumps out of us all over the pitch and we might end up with a serious injury and/or one of ours would retaliate and get a red card but thankfully that never happened.
In contrast to the East Thurrock game there were a number of players that put their hand up for selection in the starting XI for next weekend and I think the manager has quite a headache not only for the starting line up but for the five spots on the bench as well. At least it is the right sort of headache (as managers always say) with a good number to choose from and not scratching around for in form players. I am not sure who will get the nod at right back and I think we know it is Audel and one other at centre half (AA may be the favourite now having played at the weekend??) Both wide lads who started on Saturday had very good games and caused problems throughout and that is the best I have seen L'Ghoul play since pre Christmas - he looked the player of old and they were terrified of him and were clearly told to kick lumps out of him. Based on Saturday he has clearly got his mojo back and could be a massive player for us in the next two weeks but has he done enough to justify a starting berth..?? Like everyone I was very happy to see Jebb out there at the weekend and credit to him and the club for his rehab. You never know quite what the reaction will be after such a long time out - I spoke to him briefly on Saturday night and he seemed happy enough but it is probably on the Sunday or even today when he may feel the full effects of playing - would love to see him on the bench on Sunday but can we afford to take that risk..?? Ijaha came off but is a big player for us although I was also impressed with Anau when he came on at the weekend. Mendy has been a little off colour of late for me but doesn't let anyone down and might be the right man for a physical encounter with a side like Chelmsford?? Up front is presumably Mills and one other as he had a big game against them in the league - Goldberg must be the favourite after scoring two against them but Mo did himself no harm at the weekend and took his goal very well.
All in all some massive decisions to make over the next week but SK knows what he is doing - whatever 16 he selects is capable of getting the job done and should get our support whether we agree with the selection or not. It was good to beat them on Good Friday but that game has no bearing on the next one. Chelmsford will bring a good crowd with them so I trust the locals will be put in force on Sunday at fortress PVR and we can make it through to play another game the following Sunday which could just as easily be at PVR again if Woking carry on in their current form...
Spoke to Jack Jebb at the presentation night, mentioned to him he looked like he was limping slightly near half time. He confirmed that he felt his knee a wee bit and hed only had two full training sessions. Considering the operation he had was in November, Im surprised hes even able to kick a ball never mind play for 45 minutes.
Kings has some tough decisions to make this week but I reckon hell go with about 8 or 9 that started against HRB. AA or JH at centre back with TA. JA for JJ in midfield and its either BG or MB with DM.
Roll on Sunday and lets get right behind the team from the first whistle. Last two home games weve scored in the first 5 minutes, lets hope we can make it 3.
