Must have felt he could not take the club any further with the budget he was given for next season. Gutted, next season already feels like its going to be a struggle!

FFS. Four weeks until the Pre season starts. Most if not all of last seasons players now almost certainly off as well. Fan bloody tastic. Whos running this club? Shambles! Bloody shambles! Oh bye the way thank you Steve King. Gave us a team worth watching who fought for every ball and every point. Good luck in all you do.

That was a season well worth watching. SK is a marmite character but nobody can dispute that he is a bloody good manager. With this n mind I wholeheartedly thank him for all he has done for the club. We now start from scratch and I sincerely hope that MG has got something up his sleeve before he departs for his month in Spain. The budget will be stricter this season and I hope whoever comes along can produce the same results as we saw last season. Whilst I am forever the optimist, new season , new side, all I can say is lets hope we have more good days than bad!

Wishing SK much success which no doubt he will achieve with a club who backs him. Thank you for giving us a most acceptable season following three of dross. The players and style you introduced made for entertaining fayre and also made me a more regular attendee.

Well done to SK last season who put together an attractive side who got within one game of promotion.

However I felt this decision was inevitable after the meeting with MG a couple of weeks back. The money we spent on the squad last year was far in excess of what is sustainable.

I support Welling United FC not Steve King FC and if that means cutting back and a more workable budget then so be it.

What we need is more progress off the field which in time should lead to more progress on it.

I have to agree with that, all aspects of the wider Welling United need to be in balance, the team did do exceptionally well last season, but if we had beaten Woking wed have struggled in the National league, without major investment. Assuming a similar budget to last year, and some very strong teams coming into the league, the playoffs will be a hard target to reach. But a better run in the main cup competitions should be achievable

Maybe we can actually announce the management team as a lot of fans have known who it will be for weeks, given pre season is three weeks away. Some player news would be good even if its all last seasons players have gone and we start with a clean slate and revolving door.

You say we would struggle. Jamie Day kept us up easy enough on a much smaller budget then Faz and then Frosty came in and it went tits up, funny that... unproven managers are a MASSIVE risk, The advantage we would have had, had he stayed... is that Steve King is a good manager. Good managers don't grow on trees, so when we had one its foolhardy to "mutually agree" to let him go. Lets wait and see what kind of players we sign then see how small the budget is.
