Yes a good performance overall with some impressive spells, as with Charlton last week we were certainly not outclassed. A great shame the crowd was so small though. And the £2:50 for the one page program was a rip off.
As with previous PSF we looked quite decent for the most part of the game. My concern grows about the lack of goals. Tbh we didnt trouble their keeper that often although our approach play was pretty good at times. Im hoping were keeping our powder dry. Id like to see MG play what he thinks will be his starters against H&W. Or as near as he can considering injuries and absence.

Another good pre season run out for the guys in my opinion. Cook again lively and some lovely pockets of play. Jay was excellent for me at centre back and alongside Cole the trialist number 6 I thought they played well together. Think he will get signed up as we need another centre back as per MG comments. Certainly didnt look like we was playing a side in the league above and we contained them well.
Ive said it before and I will say it again, what worrys me is our attacking prowess. Didnt look like we troubled them at all. Some good creative play up to the final third and then nothing. The new number 9 only won 1 or 2 balls in the air all afternoon. Hopefully its only a matter of time for him to settle in and he will link up well with Cook and green and Coombes or Goldberg and they will all start firing together. The potential is there but it slightly worrys me at the moment if they dont hit the ground running. Jury is still out on how injury prone Coombes will be this season.
Anyway few more pre season games to go yet and Ive been pleasantly surprised with the set up.
Jay baghuelou at centre back is looking very good. Alongside Swaine they should do well together.
Anderson looks consistent and Ming had a really good game at right backs very vocal and keen to make a name for himself it seems.
Cook will be our stand out player. Looks very good and very sharp.
Cosgrove came on again and for all his pace and trying he is too easily beaten off the ball everytime. Needs to get his arse down the gym and beef out a bit more.

I think the starting line up against Charlton in the first half was probably as close to it as we have seen. My bet would be...
GK Wilks
RB ming
CB swaine
CB Baghuelou
LB anderson
RM Cook
M dymond
M rooney
LM green
S coombes
S Goldberg
Subs
Archie - cover for left back and left midfield
Magnus
Oyinsan - he will come on as an impact player to change things with Goldberg or Coombes if injured etc
jebb - only due to how fit he is otherwise he would be in there.
Mcallum or Anau - switched with Rooney depending upon his fitness or injuries
i personally wouldent play dymond and would stick anau in there. But MG seems to like playing dymond in that holding role. I think anau showed signs of real class last season once he got going but seemed unfit and a bit lazy to me against Dover. Also Mcallum was excellent towards the end of last season and provided some good deliveries into the box. I would switch him and Goldberg around at times also playing mcallum just behind the strikers sometimes to change it up depending on opposition. There are certainly lots of options I just hope MG is not going to be a one trick pony with his 4-4-2

Yes! Anau Jebb and McCallum could all be starters, I think Jebb will probably need a few more sub appearances before he's back to his best though. I am also quite surprised how good the squad is looking. We have a tough start to the league though. Lets hope the goals start flowing when the real stuff starts
Sorry but I must be watching different matches to some people.
Anau has been very poor in the last two friendlies. There is definitely a player in there for sure but, on current form, he would be a million miles from the starting XI.
If you re-look he wasnt in my starting eleven he was potentially on the bench if not after McCallum. As I said above if his fitness improves and he is not as lazy as he was against Dover he shows signs of real class at times but needs to step it up as he did last season!
Last time Goldberg was manager almost every interview started with "i feel we should of won" or similar words and "we was unlucky not to win". He hasn't even got through pre season without saying it this time around.

Totally agree with this.i must have watched a different match yesterday as I thought we just about competed and when we did gain possession it seemed the ball was just lumped up front with far to much pace for anyone to run on to. A few good crosses went into thier box but I didn't think we created much. Just bought a train ticket to Havant for the first league game but I think we're gonna have to up our game to get anything down there

Better he protects the players.... Dover have way more resources. The preseason scores have been respectable. The first league games will be a test. 9 points from 18 has to be the aim.
