Great result, excellent goal, but not many clear cut changes. I thought our central defenders played well, but the Coombes / Goldberg striking partnership didnt seem to work for me.

Quality result. Again good performances from many players not just one or two. Does seem to be a good team spirit already despite many new faces and I think the Goldberg / Coombes combo is working ok. Brad is pulling defenders out wide and getting behind people with his pace, and leaving Coombes in the box is a nightmare for any opposition. Good thing is we can afford to replace Coombes (if subbed late on) with Josh once he's back. Even have the luxury of 3 up top if we need it late on in some games.

I thought Robert Swaine and particularly Jay Rich-Baghuelou were excellent. Aaron Cosgrave's pace will cause havoc to many defences.

Brilliant result to grind out! Wasnt pretty at times but the guys dug in and got what they deserved. Swaine and jay at centre back done a cracking job. And the latter even got forward at times and played some lovely little balls about. What they both lack in pace they make up for in positioning. Ming also looked good. No bad performances from
Anyone but Rooney, cosgrove and green all looked excellent. Rooney especially gave 110%. And with Cook to come back things are looking very positive indeed. Roll on Saturday and another 3 points on the board hopefully.

P.S I think coombes and Goldberg linked up well they just didnt get much deleivery. At times we were lumping long balls up into nowhere. Feel like we are lacking a presence in midfield who bosses it like a Dave ijaha. Not sure what we do about that but would be my only constructive criticism from the game.

Well pleased with that result last night, particularly backing up the hard earned point at the weekend. I felt we were worthy of the three points as we created better openings with Ming in the first half and then Cosgrave and Swaine just before half time. A lot of bleating from Massivestone fans that they had a lot of the ball but what did they actually do with it apart from one almighty scramble at the start of the second half and a few late crosses into the box..?? A few of our boys look like they were struggling at the end so hopefully they will recover quickly and we can add some other options in the next few games.

Both centre halves were excellent and I can't argue with the motm award. Credit to Wilks for good handling throughout and for Ming for that brilliant clearance on the line just before we went in front. Cosgrave will always be a threat with his pace and good for him to get off the mark in the league (just as well he scored or Coombes might have been giving him an earful for not squaring the ball...!) Although it is a new team a number of them have played with each other in the past so already know the strengths and weaknesses of each other and there seems to be a good spirit amongst them on and off the pitch which I think always helps massively at this level. I would also give a shout out to Rooney - I have not always been his biggest fan but he was outstanding last night including an excellent piece of play in setting up the goal. He has come back this season fitter and stronger and showed some real quality last night. One small gripe for me is that we didn't make anywhere near enough of our aerial superiority. Virtually every long free kick into their box found the head of Swaine but we didn't react quickly enough or get close enough to him to feed on the knock downs - that could be a real source of goals as the season develops.

Would have bitten your hand off for 4 points out of 6 at this stage of the season but we need to keep pushing on as the next two games with Bath and Billericay will both be tough. Hopefully we may have some more options to include and/or strengthen the bench for those games.

Up the Wings!

Good result, well done everyone, three points and a clean sheet is always a great result, I've hated Maidstone since the early 80s, not as much as Dartford but i hate them. a Tuesdays club from top to bottom, Thankfully they have dumb and dumber in charge there and it looks a right mess. Hopefully they are still in charge for the return but i highly doubt they will be.
