0-3 Half Time. Bath look like a well organised team. Welling playing long balls but nothing in midfield.

Can we end the match now or have it abandoned so we lose 3-0 and not by more

Why O why do we play long ball when we do not have the

Not good at all today, completely off the pace and little in the way of ideas.

Thought Bath were a decent side and knocked the ball round well but was not helped by us.

Always a tough team to beat, and not one to meet on an off day. We got what we deserved today, but the boos at half time were a bit much.................three games in!
9 points from 15 ....has to be a good start, 7 less so.

Completely humiliated today. We couldnt of made the opposition look any better if we tried. Big big wake up call. Clueless tactics. Total waste of 90 minutes.

Bath looked fitter and more cohesive. Shame Jebb wasn't fit we offered very little through midfield.

Mr Goldberg may have got his mojo back but his team seem to have lost theirs somewhere along the way. I am struggling to think of a worse Welling United performance and that includes under Mr Goldbergs previous reign. Bath are a good side and knocked the ball about really well, on the other hand we were inept totally outgunned in the middle of the park, offered nothing up front in either half and defensively they looked like scoring every time they got anywhere near our goal. Man of the Match should have been suspended for this match because there wasnt one, although Copeland tightened things up when he came on. We did have players missing but that is no excuse for that performance. Finally, what has Montel got to do to get on, he certainly could do no worse than what we saw today.

Oh dear, oh dear. It was obvious within the first 5 minutes that we were just not interested. Coombes seemed unable to chase anything down and Goldberg kept trying to win Ariel challenges against much taller opposition. Whatever happened to keeping on the ground and playing it short to negate the wind effects?

Bath were certainly the better side and deserved the 3 points from their first half performance.

I certainly wouldnt have given Rooney the motm, but then there werent any other candidates.

looking, very hard, for positives - MG did try and shake things up at half time and with a few decisions going our way and a bit more luck in front of goal we might have salvaged something.

but on this performance its going to be a long, long season.

Can't wait to hear Goldberg say "we were unlucky".

Plenty of mentions about long ball on here, great tactic that in winds like this!!!...but then haven't we seen that before?
Same old tactics that didn't work in the first tenure in charge that resulted in sacking himself.

The only positive today is that well hopefully never play that badly again this season.

The booing at half time was justified as all we ask for is 100% effort which was completely lacking in the first half. This team is crying out for players who would care and put a shift in, namely Jebb, Archie and Gavin MCallum. Rooney was shocking today, the MOTM must have been a piss take. Otherwise whoever picked that knows nothing about football!

Were the goals being opened up after losing possession?

One bad result isnt a problem. Next game is a big one and result notwithstanding the peromwncebaounded poor today so needs to be better next time.

Hopefully MG didnt pull any punches in his interview.

I cannot see why they have the nerve to give a MOM award after a performance like that. Its embarrassing for the winner. Rooney must of won it for his assist in Baths second goal.

The sponsors Kentish Belle paid their money so it's only right that they choose a motm although they should be allowed to consider an opposition player when all of ours are so poor.

I think that it's part of the sponsors package. I've no idea who I would have picked.

It was a really bad performance and was all over by half time. MG has taken a fair bit of responsibility which was refreshing to hear. Need a big improvement on Tuesday as it's going to be tough over there. Hopefully lessons would've been learned from yesterday and we regroup and go again

Firstly we should keep this game in a bit of perspective as it's only our third competitive game of the season and perhaps we were seduced by good results and performances in the first two?? Secondly hats off to Bath for a very good team performance. Their management team and a number of their squad have been together a while now. They were a very good passing team last season and they seemed to have added a bit more of a cutting edge - no doubts they will be in the play offs again this time around.

The first half from us was very poor. Both our central midfielders seem to be playing some sort of holding role and were so deep they were virtually sat on the toes of our centre halves..?! That gave Bath all the time and space to control possession and move the ball around at will. It was such a large gap for us between front and back that we just lumped it forward and neither of our strikers were the big physical types to get hold of the ball. The first two goals we conceded were terrible as the manager alluded to. Bath are not a big side so to win two uncontested balls in our area for the first goal was very poor and, for a bloke of his experience, Rooney simply has to do much better all round for the second goal. What worries me more is this (almost) obsession with playing 4-4-2 come what may when we are clearly getting murdered in the middle of the park and can't get a foot hold in the game - surely somebody has to drop into midfield to make the numbers up and give them something to think about...we were playing Bath not Barcelona..?! At least in the second half, without playing a whole lot better,  we got closer to them and gave them something to think about although they quite possibly declared at half time as well. The one positive for me was that the subs all did ok and at least got some game time going forwards. Last but not least thanks to the match sponsors for at least giving us all a laugh at the end of the game!

Another tough game ahead tomorrow night and I trust we will get a reaction from the players and management to that first half that was served up on Saturday. As MG rightly said it is still early days but we can't afford to as far off the pace as we were at the weekend on too many occasions this season.

Up the Wings!

As long as they don't play 44 fffing 2 at home o don't care who the manager is.
Says in a article he has his Mojo back and has learned from previous mistakes..
Can't see how! Same style long ball football, same formation, by sounds of it battered by a team who now how to pass (will see that again sooner rather than later) and players that are past their best by a few years.
One of which hasn't done anything of note since he left us but commands £650 a week.
