Presumably, the National League will only relegate three, either us or the North will only relegate one depending on PPG, and it will be similar down the leagues. I cannot see it opening up another promotion spot.
Really feel for the loyal fans and town of Bury. They won't come back for next season - can't see it TBF Bolton will be saved.
Previous owner couldn't pay bills and used his company to subsidize them. Previous owner struggled so much that he liquidated his company (due to owing too much) Previous owner kept opening new companies to get credit (see above!)
New owner bought for £1.00 - used the ground to get a complex mortgage on it and car park. Transferred other assets to his own companies Charged club interest on loans Charged club for his time Didn't pay players, staff of suppliers No proper Club secretary and just ignored league rules/demands Offered to pay HMRC 25p in the £ - defrauding you/me/taxpayers
Thankfully those things don't happen at PVR

Surely the league is responsible for letting unsuitable people take control of clubs, and for the distribution of the significant TV revenues. Clearly in Bury the wrong people were in charge, but at other clubs they get TV cash but then pay stupid wages to foreign players with often questionable ability.
My suggestions, require all club directors to demonstrate appropriate financial strength, prevent club assets being used for non football investments, introduce a maximum player wage for each league, and limit the number of non English players in each team to say 3.
Well, one of the other 3 "last chance" bidders was none other than the ex owner of Gateshead. By chance or luck or due diligence on behalf of the EFL that didn't happen.
