A big earner who left before for money returns with us in the bottom half of the table? Cant work out this signing as we have 87 midfielders already. Waldren will be on a significant wage, were on a supposed reduce budget which was the reason King was sacked? That budget is going up and results have been dire.

We are in a reasonable position for a suposed reasonable budget. The potential rewards from the FA Cup are massive so if there is anytime in the season where it may be wise to invest in the team then it might be now. But I would have gone for a forward rather than yet another midfielder. I hope that we keep Theo, who looked different class, and that Montel keeps his place.

We seem to be relying on ex Bromley players and 4411. I dont think the league position is reasonable as I would be fairly sure the budget is a play off side budget and rising.
Waldren didnt flourish in a two last time round but he did have bad players around him. Hopefully its better this time around and hes fit.

One assumes that there will be someone in the out tray if we are (re)signing Waldren and I am pretty sure he won't be on the same financial deal as the Essex boys were paying him. He was decent in his first spell with us.
Anau has gone on loan to Margitt (and may not return?), Prestedge has also left and I would think that there might be another departure. Like Chris I would hope we will keep young Widdrington as well.

Waldren is in the Sam Corne model in that what he makes up for in ability he impresses fans as he runs around a lot. Hard working players have always been fans favourites, Jake Gallagher, Ray Burgess, Mike Rutherford etc
If hes fit he will be an ok signing for sure , I just question if we need a midfielder or we would have tried to sign him if he hadnt been released by Billy Smarts FC.

Agreed that we all like hard working players although I think a few on your list had some ability as well.
The problem for me is the formation. If we play 4-4-2 then we only have two central midfield positions available and it puts huge pressure on both those players whoever they may be.
Why not play with three central midfield players in a 4-3-3 or 4-2-3-1 as SK did at the start of last season when Jebb played behind the main striker and was a revelation until his injury.
As has been said many times. The manager wont play anything other than 4411. So by definition your two midfielders need to be very good and very fit and someone else has to tuck in or drop back or youll get outnumbered. Youll also be open on the counter attack.
I dont expect any change in formation.
Given we must play 4411 then we should have signed a right back as full backs will get targeted on the counter when we play 4411 and if they are a makeshift full back or not good enough then teams will score goals against us and it will be a weakness.

My concern with what seems to be a revolving door for the players, is that there doesnt seem to be much of a plan, just taking in quality (?) players whenever they become available. Id like to see another striker, or two, but that might mean Bradley gets sidelined and I guess he will be the first name on the team sheet all season.
Cosgrave would be first one out. That was a dreadful miss last week he made it easy for the keeper by delaying / not have the confidence to shoot. Jamie Philpott has signed for Glebe and he would have been a decent signing and affordable but he hasnt played for Bromley so wont be on our radar.
Revolving door (how many this season, and we're still in Sept?) Dymond and Waldren There's only one player safe in the team
Philpot at Glebe is a wasted talent.
Results have been iffy (headlines always read "deserved something", results show otherwise and league position is poor and the team is starting to resemble one that had us in a relegation fight.

Revolving door...?? Two midfielders out (Anau and Prestedge) replaced by two midfielders in (Widdrington and Waldren) Granted someone else might have to go to balance the books but, from where I am sitting, that looks like an upgrade to me. And if Philpot is happy to drop from National League to Kent League in a little over 5 months that speaks volumes about him...
We have played a quarter of our league season already and have the very important FA Cup next up. If the management feel they need to tweak the squad now then so be it.
I too have been disappointed by some results and performances (Bath and Concord) but in other games we have performed quite well and might have got more points (Chelmsford, Weymouth and Wealdstone last week).

Maybe it shows that he's not money motivated and he just wants to play.

Great signing this! I think he will really bolster that midfield and get stuck in. Win balls, knock it about, tackle back etc. We were really lacking a solid midfield player. Too many times this season the opposition have just run through our defence in-challenged. I think Waldren will slot in well and with widdrington as well things are definitely looking up.
Not sure what all this talk of a revolving door is about. Not that many players gone as far as I can see and at this level its inevitable. We have only strengthened in my opinion and with the FA cup round the corner this can only be a good thing.

In that case I cannot believe we havent signed him. Doubt he will be on a contract so theres still time.
