Prize money if we win tomorrow is £6,750 with the potential for much more if we can get through another round or two. We need to get right behind the team, even if they are playing badly, it's only the result that matters. I ve read that against Tooting Chipstead were quite a dirty team who tried to break up the play. Hopefully we can be sensible and the referee will not stand for any lower league nonsense.

Very important game for the club. Obviously prize money but would love a cup run to the first round, especially after getting a tough draw last year at Woking. This sort of game wont the attract the neutrals or floating fan but I just want the club to be up for it and approach it in the right manner. It does sound like MG will have them focused - Haringey is a reminder of what can happen.

Not only Haringey. Even last season our very good side started slowly and went a goal down to Chesham.

Chipstead didnt play that bad but didnt defend certain situations well. Keeper was a bit of a panicky too. In the bag for the next round. Hoping for a home draw.
A good professional performance in which we should always have won, but the quality of the opposition should not disguise the fact the we put together some good football and played as a team for once. Crowd numbers were disappointing though.
now we need another good home draw in the next round.
And it'll be a good chance for the Wings to progress after 2nd qualifying round upsets yesterday for Hemel, Chelmsford, Hungerford, Dorking and Concord.

Thank you for that. Wealdstone away it is then....
I know the opposition were two levels below and we should be putting away teams like that but we were professional throughout and did a good job. I have seen Welling slip up in games like that on more than one occasion in the past. There were plenty of positives to take from the game, hopefully a clean bill of health on the injury front and some confidence to take into the next few weeks which will clearly be a lot harder than Saturday. Some nicely taken goals as well albeit added and abetted by some questionable goalkeeping! Coombes took both his goals well and I am sure was gutted to miss out on a potential hattrick! Cook's was a very good strike and we have all seen Jebb do that a few times in the past and hopefully a few more in the future as well...! Set pieces were on the whole better and they need to be as we can be a real threat in that area of the game with the size in our team. Hopefully we will get another favourable draw later today and can push on further in the Cup.
Good to see Waldren back in a Welling shirt although it does mean we are rather top heavy in central midfield so MG will have some decisions to make going forward. Dymond does offer another option at right back although I don't want to see JRB edged out of the team. Okosieme has done well at centre back since coming in (particularly in the game at Weymouth) but I think Baghelou has been one, if not our best player, in the early weeks of the season and should be in the starting XI. Widdrington again impressed in the midfield on Saturday (even taking into account the opposition) and we will soon have the conundrum of how we can get Jebb into the frame as, in my opinion, he is also far too good not to be starting if and when he is fully fit. Some decisions ahead for the management team but better to have those kinds of decisions I suppose than be scrambling around for options.
Hungerford will be a tough game on a difficult pitch and very different to last weekend. A time to battle and to stand up an be counted and we should have more than enough of that in our team. We need to start accumulating some league points and push on up the table and this Saturday would be a good time to start!
