Normally I wish ex Wings good luck but I will refrain in this case!

At least D******* fans might get to watch some football (for a short time anyway..)

No doubt banking on a cup run to pay for the increased budget they can now expect.

As opposed to banking on a cup run to rely on the club having any sort of money for the whole campaign?

I would be a bit more worried about someone in our current squad...

They will finish above us now - what King did at Whitehawk was nothing short of a miracle, and he nearly did likewise here. What a desperate turnaround

The budget will be slightly higher in DA1, but not much.

The Whitehawk revival was unreal. Last season was a what-if (East Thurrock game the straw).

What's clear is so long as the chairman dabbles in management there can be no progress. King showed that by being captain and master of the ship that progress and results were possible.

Boxing day should be interesting!

Boxing day will only be interesting if you like massacres...king will be so up for it its unreal and they'll dish out a spanking!

The proof will be in the pudding if and when  King gets Dartford to finish above us. Hopefully he doesnt get any abuse over Xmas as he wouldnt deserve any. Notwithstanding losing to Dirtford would ruin Xmas for most Wings fans.

Perhaps we should do a bucket collection to pay his £200 fine from the FA, which I'm assuming was from the play off final although as the charge related to abusing officials he may have asked for dozens of other offences to have been taken into consideration.

He was sacked because he had a fine and a two game ban according to some. Funny how hes managing Dartford's next match. He served a one game ban for their game yesterday. I'd rather a manager b0ll0cked a ref when hes been terrible. It was after all a stonewall penalty in a play off final. Quite a huge event.

Or would we rather just roll over or say nothing when there was clearly a bad refereeing performance which could well have cost us promotion? Given his achievements last season it seems churlish and crass to say oh yeah but he did get a fine and a one game ban so its all ok to be in the situation we are in now.

If any of our helmets are stupid enough to abuse him then they are showing themselves up - the bloke almost pulled off a minor miracle here and should get a decent welcome regardless of who he is managing

I am not going to abuse him personally but the team he is managing is a different matter...!

Not sure he pulled off a minor miracle last season nor is he worthy of a knighthood but he is undoubtedly a very good manager when provided with a decent budget to work with.

I'm certainly not going to abuse him, to finish 3rd behind 2 full time clubs was a great achievement in my opinion and I'm gutted hes gone as I think we could've possibly built on last season and really kicked on

You say it like its a bad thing. Lots of them are inept and some are Consistently harsh vs our club. No ref deserves a bollocking no matter what? Our manager shouldnt have a go if he feels hard done by? You do realise the FA do feck all when you report a ref , they do not even give you the courtesy of a reply.

Absolutely it does, and don't worry you've got yourself a fantastic manager. We lost 1-0 at Eastbourne in his second game but he produced some of the best football I've ever seen us play and transformed us from a mid-table team to one that missed out on promotion in a play off final finishing third behind 2 professional teams. You'll be in the play offs, if not this season then definitely next. Spare a thought for us playing Cray Wanderers next season

Not quite so many smug comments about them now King is settling in - already comfortably mid table, 4 points above us and 5 off the play off places.

I'm sure they'll make the play offs and probably fifth or higher

Meanwhile, our relegation scrap with Hungerford and Tonbridge Angels gathers pace

King has gone - he's not coming back and I think we need to move on.

Undoubtedly he is a good manager at this level and it's our loss and, very sadly, D*******'s gain that he has gone a few miles up the road.

Whether it is sustainable (as it certainly has not been at a few of his previous clubs) remains to be seen...
