Drawing vs a Conference team albeit a poor one is a good result, well done all. Hopefully a good draw on Monday and we can go at them at their place. Would be good if a coach was going etc?
Poor full time Conference side who had lost one of their last nine before yesterday and who are higher in theirs than we are in ours. It was a good result although I could have done without a Tuesday night trip to Hampshire.
Watched the match highlights. How on earth was that not a penalty. Its nearly always the bigger team that gets the decision with moments like that. I'll even agree with Goldberg that if there had been "VAR" that would've been given
A good performance against a full time National League side that could or maybe should have resulted in a win. I am not convinced by the second penalty shout on Coombes but the first one on Cook looked a penalty to me! If it wasn't a penalty then the referree has to give a yellow card for simulation and he gave neither..?!
I thought it was a good team performance and, finally, a change of shape! I actually thought Goldberg Junior tried hard but could have done better with that chance at the end. And when has Coombes ever been a workaholic..?! His game is about putting the ball in the net and we are not giving him the service (at the moment) to do that. He has always been lazy as he was in his previous spells with the club but I don't recall too many complaints back then...?! He isnt going to change now but had we got a penalty and he tucked it away he would be the hero.
As well as we did on Saturday I have a nagging feeling that we might have missed our chance. A few of ours looked out on their feet at the end on Saturday and i hope they are all fit and ready to go again. Maybe a positive draw later today will give us even more incentive for tomorrow night. I will be there to hope/pray that we can go at least one step further.
Anyone who wins 4th round qualifier could get a 'buy' into round two including prize money, if they are last to be drawn out of the hat, thanks to the sad absence of Bury. I hope a lower league team get it.
Or even a 'bye' and the lucky team still receives the £36k prize money!!
