Sounds like he was confident of a win. He also talks about MG being on holiday and Ming's transfer.

A brilliant interview. Sent all the required messages to hit all the right parts - to the home fans, players, board and previous employer. A professional. Feliz Navidad Mr Goldberg.

Good interview, shows what we are missing although he does make it sound as though Dartford played like the Brazil team of the 1970s!

At least we know why we are losing to crap teams recently. Training one night a week is inexcusable and snookers you. How you can take home hundreds and train once a week and have a target of mid table is beyond words and all logic.

We got rid of that man, because our current - and I use the term loosely 'manager' wanted to be back in the dugout.
As for training once a week, there are ryman and kent teams who train more than that!
Our manager doesn't even take the training, i wonder if he even turns up!

So Ive listened to SK and Ive listened to the last MG interview regarding Sanchez and Ive seen the Kent on line report. So if you put the whole lot together in terms of they are paying more money or hes gone for less money than hes on with us

All I know is someone is telling porkies somewhere

Willing suspension of disbelief continues

Doesn't matter if Ming has gone for more or less, bottom line is he wasn't happy with how things were going here and has buggered off to his mate. Can't argue with that, Coombes has gone likewise a few times as have a fair few others. As a manager you'd be dissappointed if your players didn't want to join you.

As for training once a week............. don't worry folks, once the new ground, hotel, flats and training complex are finished we'll be full-time.

Seriously though: Once a week is laughable.

This interview confirms what Ive been thinking, that the club is just a hobby for MG, not something he treats as his main interest. I know it can be argued that with modern technology he can still take the decisions, but a big part of the role should be to lead the club, for which he needs to be visible and involved. We may survive the relegation fight that looks to be looming, but if things dont change we will be down next season.

The Ming wages is not the issue here, to me its the matter of trust. Who do you believe? If SK is correct then you can pass it by as hes gone and no longer questionable. However if its MG thats efficient with the truth then thats a bigger issue. If hes untrustworthy how does that look in the future when you are hanging your hopes on a manager and an owner of a football club who you dont know is telling things as they are?

Another good interview from King, I think yesterday just summed up what a joke all this is becoming only it's not funny at all and I suspect things could get nasty at PVR if there's no changes brought in. I've NEVER known a manager to go on holiday over a Christmas period at any level, that's if it is a holiday as I was wrong last time so I'm waiting to see if that's actually the case. A very sad day all round but let's be honest, ws it really a surprise.? Will we see a reaction with a performance at Eastbourne and then obviously over there on new years day

Brian Clough used to do it but that doesn't mean that it is the right thing to do.

Agreed but Clough wasn't Owner/chairman/manager  at a club that's rapidly going downhill. If it is a holiday and not something else I'm just amazed at what message it sends out to the players and us supporters.  I'm still trying to get motivated to get the train to Eastbourne tomorrow on the back of yesterday

If he was just the owner nobody would care, joe lewis owns spurs and the guy ain't been seen for 20 years.
Self appointed manager, take what that comes with.
Hugo and Osei and got a clue either, in fact I think they get off lightly. They are the ones coaching and prepping these players, MG rocks up and picks the team, not good enough at all. Both would struggle to get a ryman south managers job.

I have listened to the Steve King interview and it is very professional and he talks a lot of sense. Yes he went over the top in praising his teams performance but it is good for his players confidence and self belief. In the 5 years I have been going to Welling last seasons team was the best I've seen and they were unlucky not to win promotion. The worst thing was allowing Steve King to leave, even if the budget was unsustainable and some of the players moved on to bigger things I would have backed Steve King to find the right replacements. I spoke to Sanchez Ming yesterday and thanked him for what he had done for Welling United. Whether he is being paid more or less I think his motivation was to play for a manager who knew what he was doing. Whenever I have spoken with Mark Goldberg he has come across as a decent bloke but he is a poor manager. He gets rid of Steve King because he has a hankering to be in the dugout again! I don't believe you can be owner, chairman and manager. Last time he tried he failed. Picking Bradley Goldberg as striker is a mistake. I think Bradley is a good player very skilful very fast but think he would be better out wide either in a 3 or as a winger. He is too small to be a striker without a big target man. Adam Coombes is our best striker but he has been allowed to go on loan to Wealdstone of all clubs! We have lost Coombes, Ming and Jack Jebb all too good to lose. Next will be Dan Wilks and Anthony Cook as they are the best two left. It is unbelievable the manager can be away on holiday during the season if Mark Goldberg wants to do that then he should be owner and appoint a manager. Welling were poor yesterday and deserved to lose but remember one thing if they are your team then you have to support them no matter what, good or bad. We all enjoyed last season but now we have a rough patch so we need to get behind the team, cheer them on and support the lads. I am certain they are trying. If it's a relegation scrap then so be it. Let's cheer them at Eastbourne. Come on the Wings!

Not sure he has been given the opportunities or is completely fit. Too often the sub for me. Not given time to get in to a rhythm. But is true of the midfield too. Be sure of your best starting XI and stick to it as much as possible.

Lets be fair we always knew we would play 4411 so the recruitment should have been to get a squad of 18 that suits that system, instead we have signed Bromley and Dulwich rejects all past their best and all on big money.

Start from pre season we signed Ming and Prestedge all serving lengthy bans and was Cook suspended too? (apologies if not but there was another) Plus we train one night a week.

I think if Jonathan Acworth were owner chairman manager we would have been better set up on and off the pitch than that.

We did hear we are a new squad it will take time and we arent far away, that worked out well didnt it? Unless MG walks and gets an experienced manager in we are relying solely on the players to man up , organise themselves and show some fight and belief. As the coaching has been woeful.

Down to you boys to keep this club at this level. Do not be the ones who are RESPONSIBLE for relegation, the fans dont deserve that while you sit on the beach this summer.

It starts tomorrow.

SK is a very good manager. He proved it in the past, he proved it with us last season and, sadly, he will probably prove it up the road this season and probably next. However for him to try and convince people that Ming left PVR because he wants to play for him and is now on less money than he was here is just plain laughable.

King has gone. Jebb has gone. Ming has gone. Coombes has now gone. Personally i don't  agree with all those decisions.

However those are not my decisions to make. Also i no longer give a flying f*** about who was here. I want the ones that are still here (on and off the pitch) to man up, show some cojones and get us out of the mess that we are currently in. They way they rolled over and surrendered yesterday was embarrassing and, in my opinion, there are no excuses at all for that.

Goldberg is a disgrace, an embarrassment, turning us into a laughing stock.
Ive told you all this from the start, his last stint was a disaster so why would this time end any differently?
Empty promises and bull**** is what his M.O has been for years.
Surrounds himself with yes men and ego massagers and takes the real fans and people who live the club for absolute mugs.

Training once a week? When I played Sunday football we trained 2 times a week ffs, it would be laughable if Id wasnt so scandalous.

You can sense the contempt and disbelief from Steve Kings words, a man that does things properly and man that should still be at the helm at PVR pushing us forward as he is and will push Dartford forward.

How can anybody support, respect or want to play for a man who owns a club, makes himself manager to the detriment of the club and then over a busy Xmas period and being dragged into a relegation battle after some dismal results and inept performances decides to disappear off on holiday?????
Are you kidding me.......

Get out of our club and take all your hangers ons with you......

Absolute clown

Its all very well for people to say forget whats happened and only be worried about the players & staff that are here now, but as a leader of any organisation you are responsible for the decisions you make and the impact on your 'customers'. Our owner chose to get rid of the guy who almost pulled off a miracle last season and in the space of a year has transformed us from a table topping team playing fantastic football, to one that is scrapping for survival at a level of football that we haven't dropped below in decades......and along the way playing some of the most turgid, depressing football in stark contrast to the stuff we played last year

As if the above wasn't bad enough, he then personally chooses to go off on holiday during the most congested part of the season with 2 games against our local rivals and the bloke he sacked, and a game against one of the few teams sitting below us in the league. Two games, no points, one goal, five conceded

Having sat on boards of companies for over 20 years and worked in a number of senior leadership roles, that sort of decision making process would have resulted in the sack. Of course, the difference here is that he is the main shareholder and hence we are solely reliant upon any self awareness and humility that the guy has to admit his mistakes and make a self enforced change

It was bad enough at the start of the year to hear that our ambitions were a mid table finish given the previous season, but for most of us that have followed the club for many years we could get our heads round it, and I for one was happy to reset our expectations to that level. However, it is abundantly clear now that this current formula with the manager, coaching staff, training, sterile football and constant chop changing of players is taking us to a new low.

I only hope that we still have a football club left to support in a few months time, as if he stays on as manager till the end of the season I have absolutely no doubts whatsoever that we will be relegated
