St Albans looked much worse than their two visits to PVR but maybe we were just sharper. The Huddersfield lad was a rock at the back, my motm. Dymond did his best at left back but we really need someone else if Green is out for longer, I'd have recalled Archie. Dipo is growing in confidence, looks a very promising player.
All in all Quinton is doing a great job, I think we will be challenging for promotion next season if we can stay up this year.

In the end a battling performance and another three points in the coffers. What a difference a month makes, we now seem to have competition for places all over the pitch and lets hope the two Colchester lads can extend their stay, because today must have been their last match under their current loan spell. Rom C-N seems to be forging a partnership with Joseph (we will forgive the back header today!) and whilst he is not a full back, Conner Dymond does all that is asked of him and, IMO, Archie is not the answer if Green is not available. I have had my doubts about Dipo Akinyemi, but he certainly stuffed them down my throat today. BQ and his team seem to have reenergised proceedings in a very short time, to the extent that we can see light at the end of the tunnel and next Saturday will show how far we have come. Long may it continue.

In three words I can sum up everything i've learnt in life; it goes on.
We should have scored in the first minute when Adam (Cosgrave) rounded the keeper but found the ball on his weaker right foot. We controlled the first half, but seemed to lose a bit of the impetus in the second. Great "back to the wall" performance. Was it not though Cookie (not Joseph) who had the back header to set up their goal?.
Nice also to see Coombes back and relieving some of the pressure when he came on for the last 15 minutes or so.
Credit also to the referee who was the biggest person on the pitch, but was invariably up with play. He must be fit.
I did wonder where Dymond would play with Johnson right back. Strange but with three points, who cares. Credit to the live commentary as i couldnt make today.

Another three points on the road and another well deserved win.
Should have been ahead in the first minute and spurned a couple of other decent chances in the early stages. St Albans approach play was decent enough and they got an overload in wide areas at times throughout the game but their final ball was poor all afternoon. Credit to Akinyemi up front - I was far from convinced when I saw him in the first few games but he seems to be a different player now. A good finish at Hemel last week, took his first goal on Saturday with a fine quick finish and although the second took a big deflection the shot was decent with plenty of power. I felt that we sat back at the start of the second half and invited a bit too much pressure but they didn't really extend Wilks very much at all. Another strong performance from the two centre halves dealing with crosses and a prodigious long throw and credit to Johnson and Dymond at full back as well (particularly the latter playing out of position at left back)
I thought the game was done at 2-0 but we unfortunately let them back into it with a soft goal. However that didn't deter us and we looked foar more likely to add a third than they were to equalise. It is nice to have forward options on the bench although I am not sure we can afford to keep all of them..?? Also the bench looked a bit lop sided in terms of them all being attacking players although I suppose with Green and Swaine both missing we didn't have an abundance of options unlike the 25+ man squad being assembled up the A2....
So two thirds of the season now gone in terms of games. It hasn't been our best but it looks a whole lot healthier than it did 3 weeks ago! The new management team has made a huge difference of course - not least with the recruitment of players. Slough will be a tough test at the weekend and will be a good test of this team/squad and how they have improved. We should be a match for anyone at PVR and approach the game with a fair degree of confidence after the last few results and performances
