Bye Bye play offs, throw away a lead at home When Cambridge were losing 2-0. I take it Gledhill is being released as he wasnt deamed good enough to start today. He is the Clubs first choice right back. Madness to play a center half there when you have a right back on the bench. Kedwell for me cannot be player of the year , we needed his goals on the run in and hes failed, perhaps he expends too much energy on a Sunday in thanet. Something for Adie to address next season. Never mind folks, after all "we will go for it next season....." There goes a pig.....

I am now getting annoyed with Welling United FC's Website as WHY have you ignored my comments way back in Christmas regarding to the audio tapes from Adrian Pennock as I am deaf and cannot understand any words from the tapes. For the last time, I wanted to see the transcripts ON the website, which would be more easier for me and other deaf people.
Mark, You need to send your complaint to info@wellingunited.co.uk. The easiest way is to use the 'Contact Us' tab on the front page of the official website which takes you to an email generator.
Good Luck in your quest.

Dave C, JGFC...today is gutting, highly dissapointing and makes things a whole load more difficult...but, mathematically it is still not over. O.k, so i'm massively hanging on to the slightest glimmer of hope but until it's 'over' why shouldn't we???
Not a chance on today's performance I'm afraid. I thought that the toughest of our run in matches was going to be Sutton away next week but looks like I was wrong. We had 3 good chances evaporate into thin air in the first half and we gifted Eastbourne a goal by giving them enough room in the middle of our defence to drive a Sherman tank through. The second half was pretty dire from the Welling perspective, though Keds did manage what would have been a wonder goal had it curled two feet earlier and Daisy had a blast which went over the bar.
What really ticked me off this afternoon was some idiot behind the goal. Imagine the scene, your side are struggling, you come on from the bench and as you go for the ball a voice booms out from the silence saying "******* you are s**t". It is of no importance to me what any individuals opinion of players may be but even if they were a contender for 'donkey of the year' they are wearing a Welling shirt and should receive encouragement not abuse.

I've never quite understood that either Bruno. It just seem's utterly pointless. If you don't like the player fine but your meant to be supporting the team.
I've posted previously that i thought todays match would be our trickiest, unfortunately it proved to be. I still think we have a chance but relying on other's results is not the best way to go about things.
If we don't, which is now looking more realistic, how does everyone reckon on next seasons chances?
info@wellingunited.com that should be. Or get your mum or brother to ask Graham or Barrie Hobbins if they can get on to it for you. Surprising the Official site has ignored your contact Mark.

In response to wingsoldwally’s point about next season my take is that if we make the National Conference it will be a tough season and avoiding the drop back into the Conference South would be a measure of success.
If we fail to make the National, as now seems likely, you can bet your pension that with Ade at the helm we will be going for it big time next season. He has made an excellent start to his managerial career and building on what he has learnt this year he will want to improve his standing and prospects. I feel sure that the brothers whose target I believe is a return to the National Conference will give him all the support they can.
Irrespective of which league we find ourselves in I can see Ade making 5 or 6 signings during the summer, raiding the Ryman and/or Southern Premier Leagues for 1 or 2 talented youngsters and picking up a few experienced players from the National Conference or League. As far as I can tell we have 5 players contracted to next season so far and I expect that to rise to 8 or 9. I’m afraid that there can be no room for sentiment if we are serious about promotion and I don’t expect Ade to shirk from making hard, perhaps ruthless, decisions on some of this season’s squad who have helped us achieve our best season for 5 years.

Whatever way this season ends, as a club we are in a positive position. Like you said we've had our best season for five years and were looking like strengthening the squad over the close season. Promotion is a great feeling, we all want it and we all enjoy it. It's not always the best thing for a football club. Another season in this league, we can build on what we have, be even stronger next term and be better equipped to gain promotion and consolidate our position once we are there.
Still not giving up on the play offs this year though!!!!
To be fair the seasons that Margate and Burton went up were terribly poor leagues. We got off to a flyer and were bang there, Only 3 or 4 teams could have won the year Margate went up, we threw that away too to be honest. Had we have won the league it would have been fairly lucky, as Reynolds didnt have a scooby.
