We believe GoFund me pages are for genuine charitable causes, to support those suffering terrible mis-fortune like ill health or family tragedy, or to raise money for a genuine good cause that would otherwise be unsupported. We don't believe GoFund me pages are to make up for the 6 P's - proper planning prevents p1ss poor performance. Football is very tribal and loyalty is exploited. A curry house constantly letting you down would lose customer to another curry house, but a football club or it's owner constantly letting people down would be rewarded by handouts, or would seek sympathy from those so "rose-tinted" in their glasses to do anything for their club thinking it is helping, when the long-term reality is a short-term suffering may be better for it. We setup this page to raise funds to refund a supporter massively wronged in having to pay out from his own pocket personal funds to support and improve the club he loves, whilst the owner of said club, it's Directors, and even it's supporter association stand idly by. Bless you Giorgio, this one is on us. We hope to fund you a decent family meal, your season ticket costs for this season, and a good old beer or two. And if we raise not a penny, at least we have highlighted the farce that enforced Giorgio to act commendably as he has. Welling United - a slow and agonising death.

A great idea. Perhaps a new one should be set up for every other individual or business that has been left out of pocket by our 'Community' Football club.

Sad?
Wow.
Do the hardcore supporters, including many WUSA members, committee members, Chairman and Club Director not appreciate the efforts of, and want to reward and refund, the costs of a lone supporter working his nuts of?
That sets a dangerous precedent.

" Sad" as in an individual who used to support Welling United, used to bend the ear of MG every Saturday afternoon (and thought the sun shone out of his back side for quite some time as I recall...), and used to have a good group of mates down there has turned into such a sad and bitter individual.

There are plenty of things wrong at the club and plenty of things that could/should be done better and I will carry on trying to do my little bit to improve matters rather than resort to petty stuff like this.

I still support the club, and it's a tragic sign of the times I and people like me, need to resort to this sort of approach to get the club, and the blinkered, to listen. Just because I say it I certainly aint the only person who thinks it, maybe some of this isn't even written by me but from a collective.

I used to bend the ear of MG. And I was a fool for doing so. But I learn't a lot quicker than others how things were going to go. The real fools are those that continue to do so, and how dare they mock me for seeing the error of my ways.

There are indeed plenty of things wrong at the club. Refunding a guy who has paid out of his own pocket in the short term is just the very start.

When MG is gone, I suspect you'll be happy to admit you are glad he has done so - so why won't you or anyone else in the circle demand so now? Instead of having to raise money to pay his bills.

I believe what is sad is that a supporter has to pay for ground improvements from his own pocket when the ground should be maintained by, a) the freeholder, the Council (I wonder why they may be reluctant to do so), b) The tenant (I wonder why he may be reluctant to do so), or c) the co-tenant in a lower division (I wonder why they may be reluctant to do so).

A supporter is paying for things he should not have to. This is unacceptable. Commendable, but unacceptable.

Where is the owner? Where are the plans? Where is the strategy? What are his intentions? What is his opinion? Good or bad, the silence is deafening, but then perhaps that is a good thing.

What is also sad is the clubs most loyal, supportive and attending fans burying their heads in the sand and putting up with it..

The Hobbins made a costly mistake, the club was saved by the fans for the love of the club and out of respect for what they had previously achieved and the club had great times after doing so.

Jody brown dragged us down and was hounded out of the club, as was a former player of the good times. Mg will take the club into administration without a eye being blinked. Thats what I would call slightly weird.

OI , Jody Brown aint to blame, Remember The Three Amigos?

The club has been mismanaged we would all agree on that, its up the brown creek without a paddle. Those who are doing their bit will be commended by me but those that were in positions that have led to this and anything else that comes out will be held to account.

How on earth can we be looking for volunteer everythings and have the secretary cutting the pitch at this level?

Hopefully when a new person takes over then everyone will come together again and it will be our club little old welling having a go and having some success with the bad times, its always been that way.

Up the Wings, hang in there but we need change or that iceberg will come and smash us to bits under the current captain, its distressing for us all.

We're also paying or were paying (until furlough and the pitch people people were sent packing in a lifeboat) 3 times what piggy was on for the same jobs, thats utterly foolhardy and nonsense and none of them are as good as piggy was. Those same people who were given positions have been shat on lets not forget and furloughed or told thanks and goodbye. The clubs decisions and appointments havent helped now were up the creek as theres no one around to help sort the mess out until the new guy takes over,IF he can stomach paying over the odds to turn the club around. One of the people who made decisions has exited stage west just before MGs interview saying there is no budget and the club is up for sale. Has MG made any further statements to re assure the fans he does have the clubs best interests at heart? I must have missed that if so.

When MG came his first interview he said my heart is at Welling and i.m here to stay, seems to me hes jumped in the speedboat and left us all taking on water a million miles from the coast.

Credit to the manager and any players who have stuck around and credit to the fans for doing what they are.
