Many of you will have known Bob from his years of supporting Welling United and, in recent years, manning one of the turnstiles. Those who were at the Dartford game will have known the sad news of his passing but for those who were not present, you may not have been aware.

His son, Matthew has sent the following details of his funeral:

The funeral is at Kemnal Park Cemetery and Ceremonial Park, A20 Sidcup Bypass, Chislehurst, BR7 6RR on Wednesday, October 6 at 3.30pm.

The wake is at Eltham Warren Golf Club, 41 Bexley Road, London, SE9 2PE following the service.

Immediate family flowers only. Donations in Bobs name can be made to Cancer Research UK by visiting: justgiving.com/fundraising/bobpanting

Very sad news indeed. Always a friendly face and loved a joke on the turnstiles as we walked through. Condolences to Matt and the family.

Indeed so. I was very saddened to hear the news on Saturday. Always had his hand in his pocket for a club matchday fundraising venture. RIP Bob.
