I dont really understand the anti-Jody Brown thing. I didnt then, I dont now.
He was in charge for 9-10 weeks and had 9 games, 7 years ago.
From memory, he came in just before Christmas where we had been dog-**** for ages and where struggling, and he walked in to a camp directly before Christmas outside of a transfer window where we were on a poor run, and had players injured and suspended, with 4 games scheduled in 8-10 days, over Christmas and New Year, with no training sessions, no money, and due to the transfer window, no ability to sign anyone.
That period should have been a total and utter write off.
By the time he had any ability to get anyone in and do any training ground work people were already on his case.
He then experienced a red card or two and a couple of huge individual errors from players who were not good enough maybe he had signed in desperation.
He made one stupid comment in public as a result of little more than complete and utter frustration at the above. Im sure he regrets that, but it was hardly a Court Marshall offence.
And it was over and out from there.
He might have been brilliant for us, or he might have been crap, who knows. Well never know.
But years and years later the continued hatred and mockery? **** me, why? There are plenty of people before, since, and currently in place, far more worthing of questioning.
And you know what, some are giving him all the fuel he needs. Lets see whos laughing come May. I wouldnt assume it will be him, nor us. Were in no position to mock. I remember not so long ago we mocked Dartford. I might hate them, but its a bit weird to mock a team top of the league when were not.

Well said. Ive got nothing against him. Should of got more time. The Educated Football Man quote did for him.
I dont hold any animosity towards him. Yeah it didnt work out and he wasnt the first or last to fail at the club. On the footballing side he went for ageing one match wonders which was a gamble that didnt pay off. Regardless of the comments after Nuneaton, that game was totally woeful and it needed changing. Unlucky with injuries for sure but I didnt think he had the right type of contacts for us.

Okay you've got yourself a bite.
1 point out of 27
Poor recruitment - three 30 somethings who may have had de ent careers but were all playing way below National League level and were utterly hopeless.
Poor tactics
Consistently taking our best player off in games with 20 minutes to go and subsequently losing.
After one such defeat sitting in the stand eating pizza five minutes after the game finished and saying something along the lines of. "I can't help them - they need to help themselves ..."
Leaving a player out of the team because it was windy...
And bigger than all the above "achievements" the complete and utter disdain for the supporters from day one. The arrogance of the bloke was breathtaking - he may have had every badge under the sun but he couldn't run a bath.
I for one have no sympathy for him and nor will I be rolling out any red carpet on his return.
From memory, he came in just before Christmas where we had been dog-**** for ages and where struggling,
We had just won 4-1 at Telford United and had a comfortable buffer between us and the bottom four.
However, I don't bear him any animosity either. He always spoke soon after the game and he did make some good signings. Reece Harris was decent, Dominic Vose excellent and Anthony Jeffrey looked real quality before his very harsh sending off at Macclesfield. I accept that other signings weren't up to it and his comments about cross winds and being the educated one did him no favours.
