I thought we played well for most of the game. Definitely improving under PT. Our problem above all is turning pressure into chances. A deserved win all in all. Dont know why Jody was getting so upset after the full time whistle. If only we didnt mess it up last Tuesday. Wed be comfortably mid table now. Well done to the squad and management.

An instant red card at the end? For a Billy player

Is there a question in there?

A Billericay player had a go at the linesman after the final whistle, he flagged furiously and the referee, after consultation, showed him a red card.

He thought that the goal was offside. Aaron Barnes looked sheepishly at the lino before celebrating. It didn't look offside from my angle.

Who scored it? On Flashscores it said Campbell.

It was hard to see from where I was. It was announced as Barnes.

It was Barnes, he turned the ball home after Campbell saw his shot saved.

 Cheers.

So was it another backs to the wall smash and grab Braintree style win or did we deserve it?

Come Saturday we would of played the bottom 4 teams in 3 and a half weeks which is a remarkable set of fixtures really and thankfully 'next week depending we've come through it alright. Will certainly be the difference come end of the season.

It was a poor game of football. It certainly wasnt backs to the wall like Braintree, I felt we marginally looked the better side, but Ricky had there moments and Jack Sims, who has been a great addition made a stunning save we then go up other end and score. Fine margins. In games like these the performance is irrelevant 3 points are all that matter.

Billericay turned up not wanting to lose. Their hopes were to catch us on the break or from long throws but I think that they would have been happy with a point. We struggled to break them down but played most of the football that was actually played.

A game in which neither goalkeeper had much to do although Jack Sims (hope we can keep him for the season) made a stunning save 15 mins from the end. A well earned 3pts which are much needed as we have some difficult games to come. The boy from Millwall was certainly an asset and when Muscat gets match fit I am sure he will hold a place down. You cannot fault the effort yesterday (Shkombi seemed to be all over the park) but we must turn the effort into goals. Greater dividends could be reaped if when driving towards the penalty area players took the opposition on rather than squaring the ball. Also when in the penalty area shoot rather than manoeuvring the ball akin to auditioning for Swan Lake. However, it is so much easier to play the game from the stands and what is evident is the defence is now more of a cohesive unit (apart from a recent 8 mins) and we are beginning to look like a side that can hold a mid table place. The next two weeks will show if we have progressed.

Obviously pleased with the three points, less so the performance at times. Seem to hit it long the first half and it kept finding their players which lucky enough was not a problem.

Penney looked good but when he tried playing it out he lost possession a few times but I think that was him in a back three and no natural ball out at times. Once he knows how we play then he'll be a real asset. Certainly upped our game second half and good to see Campbell get forward more - just not sure why we were so stand offish in the first half when we were playing a very poor team.

Good three points however ugly and some of our players are starting to look quicker. Better performances to come hopefully.
