A pretty flat performance although we missed a few decent chances at the end and really one goal should have been enough. But we will take the point, thats now 7 unbeaten and hopefully we can keep that going on Saturday.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh When the Wingssssss
Can't fault the work rate of the team. For effort alone they should have got the 3 points. Unfortunately we had some poor finishing tonight particularly with headers and often the final ball was not great quality. Dover never really looked like scoring until we had gone 1 v 0 up, but then having taken off one of the defenders in the push to go in front that then came back to bite us and lets face it Myles Roberts prevented it from being a full on smash and grab rather than the partial one
off the pitch the Burger Bar surpassed itself tonight, no hot water so no teas or coffees Unbelievable !
Before kick off I was expecting this to be a 3 - 1 or 4 - 1 win to us, as Dover have a decent attack so are always likely to score, but have big problems in defence, so are likely to concede more than they score. But tonight they reminded me of us at the end of last season, battling away to avoid relegation. The guys have been so impressive, this was our 8th game in the last 30 days, with only one loss in this time. Some of our passing was slightly off tonight, but I think that is more a reflection of us trying too hard, rather than any other cause. Myles was a star again, and one of our defenders scoring shows our increasing attacking as a team that is so good to see. It was a night of some unexpected results, Worthing drew against a lower team, so did we, Ebbsfleet only drew against Oxford, we started off fifth, finished the night in fifth, and this was a banana skin of a fixture that could have ended pointless, so getting a point after all the recent fixtures is fine, we will soon have a run of Saturdays only. The little lay offs spread among the team were quality, and really good to see, and fair play to Dover, I was thinking while watching it was like watching a game of chess, and it shows the high standards of the division that the teams towards the bottom are still a challenge, so there are no easy games, despite what the table suggests.
It comes to something that we're disappointed after a point, making it 7 games unbeaten, and what we would have given for a few draws last season. It's still only September and things still clicking into place. A promising first quarter of the season. COYW.
Need to improve our heading of the ball in front of goal.
On occasion thought we could have had players making space for themselves better.
Not sure of the logic behind bringing on a sub in the 88th minute, hardly changed the game at all.
As mentioned, prior to our opener, looked one way.
Got the goal and sat back encouraging Dover to attack.
Hey ho, as mentioned, 7 undefeated (5 in the league), so following on from last year, have to be optimistic.
I see the highlights are on YouTube (very good ones as normal ) and it confirmed what I thought at the game, 2 points lost. Dover had a bit of the ball, but had no shots or chances until the goal on 80 odd minutes. Then had 3 saved by Roberts. Don't know why he was MoM as he'd expect to save all of those, although the one from the header was special. Kassarate was MoM for me and he should have stayed up on the wing and Hyde could have been brought into CDM.Anyway that didn't change the game as we missed 4 headers that should have been on target, Nelson Muntz in goal for them made multiple saves, but the miss by Azeez was incredible, I was celebrating as he never misses those chances, only to see it trickle wide. Also for their goal Parry needs to be stronger and block off the attacker, Sendles-White would have then got around. On to Weymouth to try to get into the 4th Qual Round of FA Cup. COYW.

I've watched the highlights, which as ever are a great summary of the latest Welling game. Teams now realise what a challenge we are, and play defensively when they come to us, so we have a new set of challenges in how to get results. But our creativity was pleasing, we created tons of chances against a defensive team, who were aiming to hit us on the break, and had very few chances against us, and it was just that our finishing on the day wasn't up to our normal level of effectiveness. It is easy to lose sight of how competitive this league is, Dover are 7th from the bottom, but also only 7 points off a play off spot, the bottom 5 teams look a bit dodgy, but anyone else can put in a good performance. There are 7 teams below us same points as us or within four points of us, so it really is a competitive league. Ebbsfleet's draw last night means Welling still hold the record for the most consecutive wins.
