Not expecting too much from this game. Hopefully a decent performance. Any signs of last weeks sloppiness then it could be a long afternoon. If we show what we are capable of we could give them fright or two. COYW.
Well done, excellent, great commentary, sounded like the ref totally lost control, to take a point at their ground despite being down to 9 men speaks volumes to the spirit & determination of the team. Great result
Immense performance. What a point. Thought the ref had an absolute shocker and seemed intent on giving them everything, including stopping the game for a ball just hitting someone? 9 mins injury time? Maybe 6-7. He played over 10
I think I saw the referee assessor crying. He might have been laughing.
So called big teams get the decisions and the ref was played like a fiddle so I can see why their top.
The point was like 3 today and the ref shouldnt overshadow such a quailty defending performance

Wow! What a game! Spoiled by the ref. Team showed tremendous spirit throughout & even with just 9 men! Keeper MOTM imo. Our support United all the way behind the team & gave it their All! Passion on & off the pitch!!!
SO GLAD WE DIDN'T LOSE AGAINST THIS LOT & THE REF!
COYW'S
We go again Tuesday!

Just seen on Ebbsfleet twitter feed saying best team they have played so far. Think this was their manager but not too sure. Would love to see their fans forum take on the game but I cant be bothered to register to read it.

Up until the first sending off I thought we equalled them, if we were not the better team. Then Payne gets sent off for what I am reliably informed was a foul mouthed rant at the referee. If this is true then I am afraid his wind up manoeuvres and other antics are becoming a liability. I know not what Dunne got his second card for, I could see nothing going on. However, all that having been said I thought we defended magnificently and throughly deserved the point. If anybody had any doubts about today's goalkeeper I think they were settled today. What a difference to last Saturday, our commitment was second to none, we gave them nothing up against a referee who, 'I am sure(hope) was not biased' but appeared to play to the home crowd at every opportunity. Lets carry this commitment forward.

In three words I can sum up everything i've learnt in life; it goes on.
Im pretty sure Eurostar would of preferred to play against 11. Having two sent off only made our nine men more determined. Every player deserves praise today. Sam Cox take a bow. Fittest geeser Ive ever seen. Brilliant game mate. Sid Nelson Top debut. Like I say every player worked their nuts off. Stephan.. keep it shut. Picking up bans left right a centre aint good. What about those pikey scratters giving it large at the Welling fans at the end. Im surprised there are any doughnuts left In Europe if those fat c::ts are anything to go by. Laughing my head off
Excellent from the 10 players out there today, a positive reaction from the rightly negative comments. I stand by Payne comment from earlier regardless of what was and wasnt said,(it must have been bad to get sent off) he gets himself involved in far to much unnecessary scenarios, he has to curb this going forward.
Superb away support as well today. Onto Tuesday.

Emotions got better of me had a pop at those Eurostar fans and got called a **** by a Wings fan and should be banned from away games oh dear!
Don't worry about it there was plenty off us giving them stick also. There was no need for it from them.
Well done welling really dug deep and I hope we continue to build upon that grit and that point isn't won in vein.
Agreed Jimmy, banned from away & called a c*%t, you should told him to F%*K OFF! ....ha ha!
Know doubt you was only showing the passion loads of us were feeling.
The reception the team got at the end of the game from us was a great moment of all in it together!!!!
...their support & their player's were unbelievable, whinging & moaning at anything that doesn't go their way. We got the better of them & they didn't like it, BUT they had the ref in their pocket.
The Team, Management (including you Mr Chairman) & a great travelling support should be proud for what we showed. On & off the pitch.

It is games like this that make it all worthwhile.
The last one I had the pleasure of being at was this one www.kentsportsnews.com/havant-and-waterlooville-2-3-welling-united-23-09-2017/
Great team performance and feel it is an injustice to single out any individual player for man of the match.
Thought the new Iraq signing Kasim fitted in well.
He was always showing for the ball and provided an immediate outlet for defenders to pass to rather than playing it long.
This allowed us to play the ball on the floor more.
Well it certainly did for the first half hour, prior to Payne walking.
Need to take this degree of team effort onto Braintree Tuesday night, otherwise yesterdays game will be meaningless.
The game should become known as the battle of stonebridge!
Agree with the comments about Payne and where and when he gets involved however still feel it was harsh considering the amount of dissent you see and hear each week at all levels of football and seldom does the red do that from the off. Equally, we missed a bit of character and ability to influence games by being Street wise last season of course it shouldn't be wreckless but particularly at this level seems to be required.
Don't think anyone had a bad game. Interesting to see if kai retains no1 spot. That was an amazing gk performance.
The first sending off was because he called the ref a f*cking c*nt
That was quite early in the game so Payne obviously has a sixth sense and was proved totally right. Seriously though we cant afford to get reds as were being left too light up top. I suppose some refs wouldnt dish out a red but why give him the chance? Kasim did really well and before the sending off gave us a lot of movement going forwards that weve been missing lately
A fantastic battling performance yesterday and we fully deserved a point, in my opinion if we'd kept eleven on the pitch I fancied the win. They couldn't handle us at the back with Azeez and Payne and every time we attacked they was panicking, I think they underestimated us and thought it was going to be a stroll in the park. The Payne sending off was disappointing and from then on we was really up against it, ive not spoken to him yet so not sure what he said but when your one nil up away at the league leaders you have to keep your head. By the time the second sending off happened the Ref in my opinion had completely lost the game, he was to intimidated by the Ebbsfleet player's and the home crowd. We was up for the fight and they didn't like it as it wasn't going thier usual way, the way we defended in the last 15 mins was unbelievable. I spoke to Jamie Sendels-White in the car park after and he said the ball for the penalty hit a Ebbsfleet player's hand BEFORE hitting his.!!!. Never the less a great save from the keeper meant we came away with a well deserved point against a team that have been flying. Some of there supporters behaviour around the press area was shocking, with one woman who took it upon herself to inform just about everyone connected with Ebbsfleet that Stephen Payne had come into the stand to watch the rest of the game. It also annoying when you have supporters trying to pick arguments when Mark Doig and myself are trying to do commentary.!!!. Anyway back to the game, great support from our fan's who all went home happy and it was a very happy dressing room after, the player's realise that they can mix it with the best in this league so we need to go to Braintree Tuesday night with the same

Certainly looking forward to picking up the Non-League paper this morning
It can be very hard work watching Welling at times but also it can also be very rewarding and yesterday was one of those days! Kudos to the 9/10 who put their bodies on the line and of course to KML for the penalty save in the 78th minute of injury time. Both the new lads acquitted themselves really well and we looked more than capable at 11 v 11 of maybe winning the game. Two thoughts looking back on it today..
Firstly, if what Payne allegedly said to the referee was true, then he he had little alternative but to send him off. He is an experienced professional who should know better and dropped his mates right in it. Furthermore there HAS to be some accountability from the club for behaviour like that...
Secondly the performance yesterday will largely be in vain if we dont back it up on Tuesday night at Braintree and then again back at PVR next weekend. As the manager has said there will be ups and downs and yesterday was most definitely the former but we need to carry that effort and commitment into every game...
Very pleased made the trip from Guildford (Surrey Wing) with my lad to watch this. I said to him when we scored we will need at least one goal possibly two to keep with Ebbsfleet and has been mentioned we finished the first half very strong albeit the sending off. The second half was complete backs to the wall and the last 10 mins we started to believe we might just grab a draw the tension was there in the away end. I have never seen a goal line scramble like the one at the end and then penalty miss was complete poetic justice and a well deserved draw gained. Wonderful connection with players. Manager and fans at the end.
My history with Welling goes back to the 1990s growing up in Bexleyheath with some of the legends on show last week. My lad requested for this 12th birthday to come to Welling and we got to the Havant game - the atmosphere, banter and humour is still there 30 years on. Great credit to those who have helped turn this around. Will get a Welling Utd flag sorted with 'Surrey Branch' on, that will really annoy Woking fans!
