Yet again I would rather we passed on this with a small squad and injuries....unless he plays the 23's or 18's...bigger fish to fry and the need for no more injuries
The Ebbsfleet squad for this match look as though they take MarkX's view, which I do too, as I only recognise Darren McQueen in their squad (who is a player I wish could join us, as he has the ability to cut in from the wing and score that we lack) but let's hope Warren's strong team pays off, and fortune favours the brave, as it is our first team defence, less regular players elsewhere, and tons of experience in the subs.
I wasn't expecting the match to be filmed, but the great news is the match was filmed and the highlights are on the Welling YouTube channel www.youtube.com/watch
I have been frustrated all season long at the manager just seeing Chi as a defender, instead of seeing his attacking qualities, and the awesome goal Chi scored shows exactly what I have seen that the manager hasn't, and it is no point the manager trying to rewrite history by saying he has encouraged this player to push up when in fact he usually plays him as a defender in a back 3 so basically can't push up. Fk all that, what a goal, challenging George's overhead kick and Ade's never say die goal away at Dartford that only people who understand football will realise what a great goal it was, for goal of the season.
That elbow in Sam Cox's face is unforgiveable, it was pre-mediated, as one doesn't swing ones arm back to get momentum to the degree the opposition player did, it was a thuggish WWF assault, nothing to do with football.
All the sides below us played last night, and the great news is we started off 6 points above relegation, and they all used a game last night, and we are still 6 points above relegation. Dulwich went ahead, then lost, thank goodness.
Our March matches against Weymouth, Taunton and Chippenham will be season defining, as I don't see us getting too much from other matches unless the manager has finally realised playing defensively (only letting in 10 in the last 9 games) is undermined if one has only scored 8 on those games, FORTUNE FAVOURS THE BRAVE, so push up in numbers, as we did in the great first half against Concord, and did against Ebbsfleet, even before we benefitted from their sending off for GBH.
Taunton and Chippenham are the two massive games, even a draw against them is good as it stops them closing the gap. Much as Feeneyitis means I can't stand the idea of watching us away, that away game against Chippenham is season defining, so I may well go. But ahead of that, even just winning the home game against Taunton could keep us up.
THAT CHI GOAL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
