I hope we have at least 10 or 11 signed by first friendly....yes I know they are also used to look at players but lets hope for a nucleus otherwise we will have to use the first few league games to gel....not ideal

I suspect that there will be plenty of comings and goings over the first half of the season, possibly longer. I doubt that our ground is good enough for the play-offs so it makes sense for this season to be a rebuild. Having almost no players is probably better than having a squad already in place that don't fit with the manager's philosophy.

Don't panic Captain Mainwaring.
I do hope we arent going to have another season where the bar is set so low that the players dont mind losing. Mid table ambitions almost got us relegated last season. Aim to win every game and keep the fans happy with a decent go for it attitude. Another seasons of mediocre crap football will drive us all away.
Forgive me if I'm wrong but if our ground is now at Conference South standard then I believe we would be allowed to go up and would then have 1 year to reach National standard.

Although I would like to have a few more players signed by now, would you rather we had half a squad signed by the previous manager, or pretty much a new squad built by the new manager? Personally I know which one I would prefer.
The other thing that does help is there are normally a few gems who become available just before the season starts. Some players might be on trial at league clubs and might not make it and filter down to our level.
Danny Bloor is experienced at this level and I'm confident will bring the right players in. I do think there will be a few players joining us from Eastbourne in the coming weeks.

No point being in a competition if you don't have a desire to succeed. That's what I hope to see. No demand or expectation of promotion just a desire to compete and if possible...win more than lose
If bloor replicates what he did at Eastbourne be over the moon. That to me is the definition of competitive and at least there would be hope even if that couldn't be fulfilled or is realistic. But then again look at Oxford albeit perhaps better or more nl friendly
New manager, will take time to get a squad together. Its what most of the Welling supporters wanted. Lets get behind the club and looking forward to seeing lots of positive posts as we move into the season :)

A desire to succeed doesn't mean that it is instant. It has been a torrid time in the last three or four four seasons, and success for me would be stability in the league, some entertaining football, and good cup runs. Once stability has been achieved, then look to progress.
Sam Bayford, Ayo Lugboso, Donald Macaulay amd Jack Church have all signed on from the academy. Nice to see this happening, personally really like Sam Bayford from the couple of chances we got to see him last season, I think he's better than Cameron Andrews at moment

Coincidentally the namesake of someone who would still have feeney as manager right now....
and, to be honest, much more promising than the experienced forward that wore #9 in the first half (Trialist "E", I think - but most of us realised who it was).

I thought I saw in the pics; former wing and ebbsfleet striker? Wouldn't mind him if he can find form
