Best news I've seen all week. Something needs to be done ASAP, there's been other speculation about jobs also. Until its resolved then its difficult to sign players whilst other clubs are doing a lot of business already.
Reading between the lines, the job interviews were held, Warren was one of the interviewees, one of the front runners withdrew after finding out the budget was not competitive enough in his view, but Warren's hat is still in the ring.
I wonder just how competitive our budget is for the new season, if it is low and uncompetitive maybe that is why Warren is looking into other options, as it is not exactly a vote of confidence for Welling if he is looking elsewhere. We have 3 confirmed signings since the season finished over a month ago, whereas some other teams have already announced their full squads, maybe we have tons already signed just not announced, maybe not if we dont have a competitive budget, time will tell.
Only one thing is clear... there is lots of uncertainty! Square's update about the stamps may have been presented as a low concern item, but in this air of silence about the club, it is the biggest Welling United news story in the last month!
The thing he's gonna fail on is "who will your assistant manager be?". "Oh you would never of heard of him, but he wears his socks over his trackies so he looks the part".
If your manager is publicly applying for other jobs then regardless of whether he gets it or not they should be removed from their current position.

If it is him I hope even the most optimistic of supporters can see the warning signs.
Disappointed with the clubs efforts or lack of to drum up season ticket sales. All well and good saying about a price freeze but what else is there apart from blind loyalty in following the club. Most other sides are getting business done. Appreciate its early and some of that business may not work out but at least engaging with fans about their immediate and interim actions
The Welling site news story about Antony signing on for another season says, "Meanwhile, Wings boss Warren Feeney was pleased to tie down the former Orient youngster for another season." So although the club's pitiful communications with fans means they haven't bothered to formally actually let the fans know the manager is staying, that appears to be the case.
It is a shame though, we are missing out on an unexpectedly available managerial candidate who is more popular and honest than Warren... Phillip Schofield!
We've now got 2 new signings and 2 re-signings, so at the moment we can't even field a 5 a side team. But we can't give up hope that Jay Simpson and Yaser Kasim come back. Maybe even Tyrique, if he can drag himself off from the celebrity beach.
What are our club doing whilst this is going on exactly? It's all good and well for us getting rid if him, but what's the plan? No statement on rumours from club, still nothing about players, fiore picking players again? He's just as bad. Absolute fffing shambles. Sleep walking into oblivion.
Some of the twitter replies to his imminent appointment are brilliant, their fans don't even want him!

I just hope there's enough going on behind the scenes that they will blow us away with such good news we all then realise why they've kept things so quiet.
I also find it quite amusing that the board have been so stubborn in his defence yet hes dropped them without a moments hesitation by the looks of it. Good riddance!
Special mention to the board and Mark Goldberg, Jerry Dolke and my great friend Andy. I want to give big mention to my friend for life, and what an honest soldier he was, in Jake Winchester who stood side by side with me through it all and for every emotion.
