May I wish our new boss Danny Bloor all the best and welcome him to the club.

I am rather critical of certain things about the set up of the club sometimes but Im sure youll all agree that Dannys appointment is a decent one, its logical and the guy has proven ability in this division and its an appointment Im sure we can all get behind and will galvanise the team and the supporters.

Lets get behind this guy and lets push this team forward

Yes welcome to the club Danny and congratulations to the board for seemingly carrying out a professional process.

I really think Eastbourne have messed up in letting him go. Their new owners statement about using statistics to recruit players is laughable.

They had the highest achieving manager in the league over the past few years, who developed young players and sold them on, increased crowds by engaging with fans and playing great attacking football and even reaching the 1st round of the FA Cup. Crazy.

BTW there is nothing wrong with using statistics but it's nothing new in Football. There is a limit to how many statistics you can gain from a lower league/youth team football match and those stats can be misleading.

This is a great appointment and I say congratulations to the people that made this possible, this guy has bags of experience and from what I've been told was outstanding when interviewed. I for one are very much looking forward to meeting the new manager, just seen his first recorded interview and I'm very impressed. I think this can be the start of something very exciting and I hope everyone gets behind the new manager and the club

Over the years I have always thought of Eastbourne as a bogie team for us. Ive often dreaded their visits to PVR. Hopefully we become the bogie for a few teams next season. Congratulations to the board in making a considered appointment and lets look forward and get behind Danny and our team from the off.

Good luck Danny.

The complete polar opposite of our previous manager, Danny is like a breath of fresh air. I've watched a couple of his post-match interviews last season and the interview just now with the club and the one thing that strikes me is his infectious positivity and genuine desire to connect with supporters. This makes a very positive change from the negativity and constant criticism from Feeney. His Eastbourne team played some quality football over the past couple of years and hopefully, he can replicate that at PVR. A special mention to the board for getting this over the line, I must admit when the rumours of Ricky Holmes started floating about I was very concerned that they'd get in a yes man like we've been used to over the past few years, however, they've proved me wrong. Now we just need to get Paul Whitehead back as chairman and a few decent players through the door and we could be on track for a very promising season indeed. Welcome, Danny!

Just watched that first interview and indeed what a breath of fresh air. Heres a guy excited to be here, who wants to be here and is doesnt think hes doing us a favour being here. He is relatable, likeable sells some excitement and the pride of being at Welling.

Over the moon and looking forward to whats coming next and for the new season ahead.

Gosh, this is really good news. I have watched the interview too, it is very reassuring, he clearly is aware of things that went wrong with the previous manager, so makes sure he doesn't make the same mistakes. But I am very good at seeing through people, he isn't just saying things he knows people want to hear, he has obviously thought and understood a lot about what Welling need from a manager, so clearly knows what he needs to do.

It is great knowledgeable fans here were keen for him to be appointed. He has credentials of knowing this league really well, and a track record of success in this league, so is a great choice by the board compared to past appointments like Warren, Peter Taylor and Steve Lovell who didn't have the necessary specialist understanding of this league Danny Bloor so clearly shows.

The club's desire to engage with fans and respond proactively with the fans has been evident in recent weeks, things like the staff v fans match, agreement with the fans view on the extension of frozen season ticket prices until the manager was appointed, and now a manager who clearly values engagement with the fans.

Our 3 - 0 home win against Hampton in April was amazing, the most dominant 90 minutes I have seen us play. Someone in the club said to me it was because we played young hungry players, which looking back was spot on. So it is great Danny Bloor says he wants to play young hungry players with home grown talent, as that was the secret ingredient in the Hampton game, and I would love to see many more games like that from us, and am sure will will with this new manager.

Great news, well done board!

As an Eastbourne fan, I'm excited for you! When Danny arrived at our club we were languishing in the bottom third of the league. A bit like the situation you've found yourselves in recently, I suppose. He should bring fast-paced, attractive football to PVR and won't tolerate players who are just going through the motions. He also has an infectious enthusiasm for the job and is usually fair in his appraisal of his own team and that of the opposition. I hope he'll be a success at Welling as in my opinion, he's been pretty unfortunate to have been pushed out from Eastbourne given how well he had been doing with such little means. Weird feeling personally, as I was gutted to see him go, but at the same time I can't really judge the so-called "new era" at our club as I'm yet to see what it looks like! We'll definitely welcome him back to Priory Lane when Welling visit, in any case.

A very good 1st interview with Ollie. He speaks very well and has obviously got a clear plan in his mind. Didnt once speak about himself or about what hes done in the past unlike our previous manager. I wish him the best of luck. I hope he gets fully backed and manages to bring in the players he wants.

I'd love Park Life too.

It would also be cool to have Utah Saints "Something Good", as it is such a positive high tempo song, ("I just know that something good is going to happen") and has a sample of Kate Bush, who grew up in Welling. I rather cringe when I hear Ain't No Stopping Us Now, as let's be honest, we only won 8 out of 23 home games last season, so lots of teams stopped us! "I just know that something good is going to happen" is positive, but also a bit more ambiguous, it'll happen maybe this match, maybe next!

Some of our music last season made me burst out laughing at matches, like an accidental musical commentary on what was going on, Embarrassment by Madness was so appropriate, and the Specials Ghost Town summarised things!

I've had quite a few people say to me about the walk out music, I like "simply the best" ( Tina Turner) but that's just me. I know a lot of people like " ain't no stopping us now" as it's been played a while now. Perhaps a discussion at a WUSA meeting or even a supporters pole...

As a welling fan, but an Eastbourne resident - I've seen a lot of Danny Bloor. He takes a little bit of getting used to as he is unconventional in his style, but he certainly won over the Eastbourne fans - as he was honest, took full responsibility when things went wrong, and had unwavering enthusiasm to make even the biggest sceptic believe (its gonna be a nice shock!) His communication with fans is second to none (OMG) and what really matters is that at Eastbourne he built a decent team, and relatively small resources through building excellent relationships with league teams.

I attended 3 games last season - my worst season yet. Mainly because I hated Warren's attitude on the sidelines and that reflecting on the team spirit. I don't want to travel 60 miles for that.

Danny is a great bloke, a good manager - so hopefully he'll get on with the powers that be, because I sense he was treated well at Eastbourne before the new investor came in.

COME ON AUGUST!!!

Neither for me. Too many clubs do 'simply the best' and ain't know stopping us now' should be consigned to the memories of the Hobbins' days.

Welcome to Welling United Danny Bloor

An excellent choice as new manager. He has a proven record at National League level. Seems to be well liked by everyone and plays attractive football.

I wish Danny every success as our new manager. I hope he is a manager we can all get behind and support and he stays for a while and gives us much needed stability and continuity.

Music - Parklife

Manager, fantastic. Board need to let him get on with it, no interference etc.
All you can hope for is exactly what we've got, a likeable manager and a decent brand of football, so even when u don't get a result you think at least we tried. Not every team can be winning every week but last couple of seasons we've had a stone age way of playing and that reflects on where we've been.

Looking forward to seeing some fresh signings now, ones that he will know and that know this level.

We talked about benefits of taking on a manager with no previous managerial experience, as available ones were likely to be damaged goods. That was driven by it not seeming likely we'd get a quality experienced manager, but lucky us got the best possible outcome, an experienced manager with a successful track record.

Something that struck me positively about him is he stands up for what he believes, having left Eastbourne as he didn't want his signings to be made for him on the basis of stats. I like that strength of character, to walk away from his team of 3 years who have been successful shows he really does stand up for what he believes. So I assume he will play a big part in player signings, as it doesn't sound as if he is happy to compromise on that.

Nigel, thanks for confirming what I had suspected! After the appointment announcement I was listening to At the Hop, by Danny and the Juniors, as we now have Danny managing us. Tubthumping by Chumbawumba is a great football song that is so Welling, "I get knocked down, but I get up again, you're never gonna keep me down"

Wow, read through the posts and was pleasantly surprised to read such positive messages. Just watched the interview and and I get a really good feel about this appointment.

With the manager now in place, players will now follow. A good person will attract other good people.

Great to have such a positive vibe.

I might just have bought my season ticket at the right time.

The feedback from fans of his previous club is really positive, which is very reassuring.

His track record of results is also reassuring, seeing how his teams have done compared to Welling also gives confidence. His first season was a little rocky, presumably as he came in midseason so had to rebuild a team so didnt have the ideal start, and we may possibly have to be patient this season as he hasn't got much time to get a squad together.

19 20 Eastbourne 28/72 8th from bottom Welling 23/72 4th from bottom (only matches he managed)
20 21 Eastbourne 33/57 points 3rd Welling 12/42 bottom
21 22 Eastbourne 60/120 points 6th Welling 38/120 2nd from bottom
22 23 Eastbourne 71/ 138 points 8th Welling 58/138 16th (8th from bottom)

Charlie walker and Mitch Dickinson I reckon, or even Chris whelpdale  They had a really good lad from Palace on loan last year so maybe we can get a couple too.
