What is not going on here with this forum? 90 minutes before kick off in a localish derby and not a mention? Can only guess the JH?Jimmie posts have sent all packing as i had myself for the past three months...

Come on you Welling fans, get excited about today's match and the future which begins to burn brighter.

I can't be there today but wish the team and travelling support a pleasant afternoon and return journey with 3 points. COYW

Would have bit your hand off for 4 points from the two games, but to get all 6. Fantastic!

Still think the addition of another striker would help out a lot but onwards and importantly upwards!

Oh and can we have Tanga on a season long loan please.

Well deserved victory today ...well done Lad's!

Good attacking play by us in the 1st half & defended well in the 2nd.

So good to come away with a clean sheet & a win.

1st half was excellent. Some really nice passing football. 2nd half was a little backs to the wall stuff. Defended well and didnt have too many scares. Agree we need to keep Tanga with us all season. For quite a small fella he really gets stuck in and tackles well above his weight. He came away with the ball more often than not when involved in one on one duals. Lakeland Byrd was like a Rolls Royce out there. Vaughan was good as well. No no to be fair every one involved looked good especially 1st half. The team deserved the wins over the last to games. Take Truro out and weve got a very decent team. Well done Danny Bloor the coaching staff and the whole squad. Im very happy after watching that. Onwards and upwards. COYW

Fantastic result. Although I wasnt there today, I really feel like weve been very good value for the six points weve picked up. If we could add a striker to the squad we really could have a decent season

Backs to the wall for periods in second half, although still looked comfortable.
Should have had a bigger cushion going into the second half, but very happy BH weekend.
Difficult to single out a MoM, but if put on the spot would nominate Pap.
Worked tirelessly in the middle, and very good linking defence into attack.

We appear to make simple things like ball to feet football achievable, whereas last season, this style of football would have been frowned upon.

Actually managed another way game bringing my total to 2. At 3 today I would have settled for 1 point but as the lads settled into the game I was looking for all 3. Agree about keeping Tanga but my fear is a league club will come in and snap him up from the shots. Great pleasure at the end to see how Danny interacted with the fans. After last year he is such a breath of fresh air. Finally to those of you behind the goal. Well done your singing must have boosted the team spirit no end. Hope there are not too many sore throats tonight (make sure you lubricate them).

We thoroughly deserved the win today. Excellent team performance & could have been 2 or 3-0 up by half time. We defended well in the 2nd half & although Tonbridge had plenty of corners, they never really looked like scoring. Fantastic turnout from the Welling fans.

That was really good today, although being pegged back for last 10mins we looked solid at the back. That felt like.being back to what it's all about today and great to see the players reactions at the end. Vaughan for me was MOM, just made everything look easy amd always in the right place to break up their attacks.

Waited a long time for a performance like that. Not since the days of Steve King have we played so well. It wasn't just that we won it was the manner of the win. We played some excellent football at times and a very good to feet passing game. We defended stoutly in the 2nd half when we needed to but still played some nice football. The whole team played really well, if I was pushed for MOTM I think Papadopoulos just edged it from Tanga but every single player should proud of their individual performance and that of the team. I hope we have turned the corner now. If by the end of the season we have finished comfortably mid table playing some good football with the same manager in place then we are moving forward. To retain the manager and some of the playing squad will give us a core to build on and the stability the club needs. I would also mention Tonbridge Angels who played well too and contributed to an excellent entertaining football match.

Verdict: Very very pleased

Never mind Steve King my mind went back to the Jamie Day team that won this league ( I know I know Steady on fella) It was bloody enjoyable though wasnt it

So enjoyable, I think I am right in saying Danny played the same 11 as won on Saturday, so it looks like he has decided who his preferred starters are, and we benefit from putting out a settled side.
This early season was about quickly closing the experience gap between us and the other teams. After being a goal behind three matches in a row, we closed that gap and now won two games in a row by one goal, so it is so impressive how quickly the team settled down to become so competitive after Danny's seeming mission impossible of setting up a new team in 6 weeks.
There is clearly lots of clever fixing things behind the scenes, Crossley in an earlier game wasn't that good at stopping crosses, but in his last two games he has been great at stopping them. On Saturday our goal kicks kept getting sliced wide for throw ins against us, today they were really well targeted.
We've a couple of tricky games against Bath and Worthing, but it is great to have points in the bag, and if you'd told me after our opening 4 losses that two games later we'd just be 4 points off a play off spot I'd have bitten Alan's hand off.

Maybe, maybe not. He may decide to bring back TJ Bramble next week, and Mitch Dickenson when fit.

Very encouraging and pleasing to read these positive comments. One step at a time as they say, but it sounds like we are getting our football club/family back. And as others have said, love the managers enthusiasm and rapport with the fans. What a difference 4 months makes!

No expectations upon you Mark, you certainly do your bit and very well too. I was just disappointed to find no update, nor promotion of the game when I looked it being so close to ko time, and thought someone of the 'regulars' would have been excited enough to kick it off here? Coupled with the general malaise of the last two seasons I was concerned.Keep up your good work.

Great to get our first away win of the season. It was interesting to go to the Tonbridge game and get a sense of what the journey there is like, bearing in mind there were rumours a while back that we may play home games there for a couple of seasons while the PVR ground is being developed. The plans were due to be considered by the council in September, so we should soon have an idea about how those plans are progressing.

I am so impressed with the quality of the goals we score this season, it kind of summed up last season that our goal of the season was a mis hit cross scored by an embarrassed guilty defender, but this season we have scored fab goals, the header yesterday was great, David's goal the other day was great, as was Alex MacAllister's, and my favourite goal so far this season was Cameron Green's, as the run and 1 - 2 with Will Wood was so good.

Hi to Jonathan and Chris who spotted me after the match and had a great chat.
