Can we seek an immediate abandonment of this match on the grounds we are playing in the wrong league? National League tv have this match billed as being "National League NORTH". Sums up the NL admin but clutching at straws perhaps?
Sorry to bang on about how poorly I rate Taylor Curran, but lets be brutally honest here, his distribution is poor and the defence does not look confident with him in it.
Yes, he can put his head on a ball, but when ball to feet, was finding time and again a player who was man marked.
If that wasn't the case, it was a simple long ball.
Yet to see the goals yet (as standing at the other end makes it difficult to call).
Don't get that Burchell was brought on when 3-0 down.
I would have started with him and Byrd. They seem to have grown an understanding, and thrown pap on as right back following the warm up injury.
We played football from the back more consistently & confidently with this defensive pairing.
Hope Adom is OK as so far in this season, he has been the stand out player who can make something happen (in my opinion).
Would still like to see him as a centre forward, as it appears he could teach a few others how to finish a ball.
Yet again, feel Bloor has to hold his hands up for partial blame here.

Burchell is carrying an injury I think? I agree his loss has been massive 9 goals past us since Curran and byrd starting at cb.
Not sure why paps isn't isn't starting in that CAM role any more?
A little "anorak" peculiarity for you. Taken from the programme last night (which was an improvement on last year, both in quality and value, but still not great) * :
Attendance on 4th November v. Havant and Waterlooville - 603
Attendance on 7th November v. St Albans City - 603
Last night however they had an interloper and the attendance was 604
Note * : at least they had one. What has happened to our programme?
I hope Kain is ok after his injury, not sure why he left the field the far side and then had to walk even further around the pitch as the injury was quite central and doubt the ref would have made him leave the nearest way off the pitch. Far too many players underperformed last night and it seems like one good game in three is enough to start. It isn't. If our hands are tied due to the budget then we need to have more faith in the academy, not every game obviously but would like to have seen Kamara come on last night as we got in and around their six yard box in the second half but lacked pace and a gamble. Points start at the back though and shipping four goals meant we had no chance. Losing Lema and Chambers was unlucky and shows how thin our squad is, would Andrews have been a better swap for Chambers?
Our home attendances are around the 550 mark, which disappoints a little as I hoped the new manager and squad would attract fans. But results play a part in this. YouTube unexpectedly helped also show part of the problem, as it recommended a blog by the Erith keeper, which I watched even though I have no interest in that club, and then looking into how they are doing, to see they are in the relegation zone, and surprised they are getting attendances of 80 - 108, way below the 256 that watched the one Erith home match I went to last season as we were playing one of my son's local teams Tonbridge Wells. Financially keeping a club afloat on attendances of 80 - 108 must be a real challenge. And their lower numbers show that the bad economy means fewer fans in general are going to games, so that is partly why we get less watching ours at present.
Taylor Curran always looks not up to the speed of our games, which is why he makes mistakes, though whether that would change if he played more often and so was more match fit is something that may only become clearer in time. But playing him and Antony in defence meant half our defence was not at all regular, and the opposition fully exploited that. The commentary suggested Chambers was taken off for tactical reasons, to put on an extra experienced defender after we had conceded 3 early goals. The opposition having the creativity to play with 3 in attack, and scoring 4 as a result, is something well worth thinking about, as there are lessons there.
We are looking good in the cups, P5 W3 D1 L1 and our recent form is better than Taunton's, so looking forward to Saturday!

No way was there 600+ in that ground last night, more like 400

It's easy to keep a club afloat when you hardly have any overheads
A final thought on that game. Why did we choose to not keep a player up the pitch when defending a corner?
We basically gave them a free pass to throw their entire team forward.
When the ball was kicked out of defence, it simply got returned.
