By the sounds of Nigels commentary we are the better side. Could have should have had a least one more goal. Their 1st shot resulted in their goal. Lets keep going for it.
Dominant second half by the wings. I was always worried we would be sucker punched at the end but we are a stronger outfit now. One defeat in 12 league games is outstanding. Loving the effort every single game. We aint half bad now.
I thought we were the better team, apart from a lapse in concentration to let their guy in they done nothing. Once again didn't look a top v bottom team.
Another strong performance (particularly in the first half) and if anyone deserved the three points it was us. A very good first half especially. We may have made a slight error leading up to their goal but it was still some good one touch play on their part leading up to the equaliser. As the manager alluded to we could, and maybe should, have made more of our set plays. We have scored a few goals from set plays (Hampton and Truro at home for example) but, on the night, the delivery was not up to the usual standard.
I came away from the game thinking that we are a decent National League South side these days and have gone to some tough places like St Albans, Yeovil and Hampton and more than held our own. Chippenham will be another tough test but we're more than capable of getting a result there and in all our remaining games but we need to keep pushing to ensure our Conference South status.
Just seen the goal highlights and I love Sonny's goal. One of my all time favourite players is Luis Suarez, as he would score goals when I hadn't even seen a chance of a shot was on.
Sonny's goal is like that, great pass from Jason, finally we have a midfield player who gets it that if you give passes for attacking players to run onto, that is a good thing! But even so, such a good goal, Sonny has so much work to do, and there is no way he can score from such a tight angle, except he does!
Fair play to Hampton, their goal was excellent, and that is the exciting strength of us these days, us now competitive against all the teams we play, matching them for quality.
Before the game if I had been offered a point away at Hampton & Richmond prior to kick off I would have taken it. However, on the balance of play I thought Welling deserved to win. I came away from Hampton thinking we should have won that. That is how far this team has come under Rod Stringer that a draw away at Hampton is now a disappointment. On the plus side it's another point in the bag towards our goal of staying up. We have had some impressive results recently, Hampton home and away. Yeovil away, Braintree and Worthing at home and St. Albans away. All good teams. We have a team to be proud of.
Verdict: Keep this up and we'll soon be mathematically safe
