A HUGE 3 points given other games around us arguably not quite going our way.

Yet again Rod has come up trumps bringing on Joe as part of his game management.
Not pretty, but it is three points against a professional side.
How much do we miss Fish?
He would have been in his element today.

Phew!!! That was a struggle. But who cares! 3 points. Dopey challenge by the Torquay player who let his team down badly. Torquay fans need to shed the BBB attitude and accept they are at this level for several reasons. They are no longer a EFL club. Safe trip back to Devon.

As Wallop mentioned Fish - not even in their squad today, no appearances so far. What's the point?

Absolutely. What were Crawley thinking sending a player who was flying and enjoying his football 300 miles up north to do nothing for two and half weeks.

Do hope he has not been injured in training.

Thought we did just about enough today to secure the 1-0 victory against a poor Torquay side. They didnt trouble our keeper too much & Asa Hall (their no. 8) never looked like scoring. He has scored some decent goals in the past but seemed to be going through the motions today. Joe Ellul played a blinder when he came on from the bench & never once looked in trouble.
Nice strike from Adigun but, as has been mentioned, we need a Sonny type signing to boost our attack.

A lot of Torquay fans predicted a Welling victory which is indicative of where the sides are today.

If the Wings are United...

Great to win, but if they hadn't gone down to 10 men after 27 minutes quite possible they'd have drawn or won this, as like against Dover we weren't playing to our strengths of passing it quickly, so got bogged down into a midfield scrap.

It was interesting to watch, and wonder which players are likely to be back next season. Our keepers and defence are excellent, hard to make a case against any of them, and they play so well together it would be a shame to break that understanding and (apart from TC) lose any of that proven collective experience. Midfield is way less effective, Jason is fine, but he is on loan, Antony Grant's experience has really improved the team solidity, and great to keep Antony Pap's versatility and further potential, as it is so easy to forget he is only 21. But not too much midfield creativity or goals apart from them. I can't imagine any of the strikers will be back next season, as since Sonny left our goals have come from a defender and different midfielders, and our strikers don't look particularly likely to score.

Wasn't the greatest performance but another priceless 3 points, this turnaround under Rod and Kevin has been amazing. Nobody saw this coming and I'm hoping that with a competitive budget that we can really push on next season

First and foremost let's clear up this Sonny Fish situation. He's not our player and never was and Crawley control his future. If they feel he would benefit from stepping up a level than that's their prerogative and we should thank him (and them) for his contribution while with us. He played a few minutes in the FA Trophy for Tonbridge while on loan there this season, hence why he couldn't play for us in the Barnet game  (and nor could he play for Gateshead yesterday)

Another hard fought win yesterday where the result was far more important than the performance. We might not be mathematically safe yet but I think we now have done enough. If you had said to me at the start of the year that we would be sitting in 16th place with 51 points with 3 games to play I would have thought you were mad so huge kudos to the management team for the turnaround.

We started the game a bit slowly but the red card obviously changed things - a daft challenge in the circumstances and leaving Torquay a man down for three quarters of the game. Keeper probably will be disappointed with the goal but you don't win the raffle if you don't buy a ticket...

Second half we were very slow out of the blocks and looked like we had a man less rather than a man more..?! As in the Maidstone game the management team made a switch and, once again, it paid dividends. Last week Ellul was struggling and was taken off. This week we needed his organisation and physical presence and he was the best player on the pitch in the last half hour. As I said not a pretty game but a vital three points.  Things looking up on and off the pitch and long may that continue.

Up the Wings!

I thought Welling had a good first half but were very poor in the 2nd half. Torquay having a player sent off for a silly reckless challenge helped us but we should have stretched them by passing the ball more. Joe Ellul was excellent when he came on won the ball time and time again in the air and organised our defence to see the game out. Not a great game but the win is what counts

Verdict: A vital 3 points
