This Friday evening the Under 23 play their penultimate and probably most difficult match of the season.  Having defeated Bromley Under 23 at home last Saturday, they visit Aldershot Town where a draw will mathematically ensure they win the Premier Division (and maintain their unbeaten league record).  The match will be played on the all weather pitch at the SB Stadium, Bottom Meadow, Sandhust, GU47 9AH (home of Sandhurst Town and Bracknell Town), kick off at 19:45.

Anyone wishing to go is advised to park at "Pyes Acre Car Park".  It is about 700 metres walk then to the ground (less across the park - but bring waterproof shoes!).

Their final game is at home (Holmesdale) to Woking on Monday 29th April, kick off 19:45.

Fantastic season for our U23 lads. Aldershot away & then Woking at home (of course, rivals themselves) is a tough task, but our boys are a bit special.

Our 1st team & U23 combined achievement makes you feel prouder than ever to be a Welling fan.

Won 1-0.  A goal just before half time punctuating constant pressure from Aldershot Town.

Champions  !!

Well done lads.

So, we finish off with a 6-0 victory against Woking. As mentioned by Peter, our young lads are undefeated.
Jolly good show chaps.

If the young Wings...

According to FA Full Time site one game left on 7th. Away to Aldershot in the Michael Bidmeade Challenge Cup. I presume this is the final as, when searching, cannot find any upto date information about it.

I think it must be a final as the game is being played at Imber Court (Metropolitan Police, Esher - not far from Sandown Park).  Kick off is 7:45pm.

Having watched the Aldershot away match, this will not be easy.

Winning the league undefeated is superb. League & Cup double for these boys would be something else. The two best sides in the division go head to head in the Cup!

Won the Cup Final 4-1 at Metropolitan Police this evening.

Was tight until the goal that made it 2-1 then Aldershot Town boys lost the plot, which with an over zealous referee, led to a lot of yellow cards.  We took advantage and scored 2 further goals.

Congratulations, the Cup and League double, unbeaten all through the season.  Hopefully some way can be found for you to grow within the first team.

Really pleased for our lads, Peter. This is a fantastic achievement and shows the quality within the squad.

Good stuff, young Wings!!

Maybe a lap of honour for them at a home league game early next season or the Charlton friendly?

I can find no recent information on our official Web site or twitter concerning the Academy/U23's. Bearing in mind how well the U23's have done I can only assume that there is a massive disconnect between Welling United FC and the Academy/U23's. Can't see any lap of honour anytime soon.

Maybe the fans ambassador can suggest it if that's what people want. I would be interested to know the date of the Charlton game.
