FA Cup replays to be scrapped from the first round onwards from next season. All rounds will now be played on weekends. Although they also state the fourth tound will be played in an extended window from Friday to Wednesday. This is part of new 6 year agreement between the FA and Premier League. The mid season Premier League break will be removed.

Lots of non league and some Efl are posting their objections to the new format. The Football Supporters Association said is has passed on the serious concerns of fans to the FA.

There is a lot plastered over fans facebook pages giving more information if you havent seen it yet. Wondering what our clubs opinion is?

There is a petition that's been set up. I also think that some sort of legal action from the EFL clubs could happen, as far as I'm aware, there's been no consultation

The FA are a bunch of C***s.
Always have been and always will be.
Going back as far as I remember football
Brian Clough, Forest, not a chance of managing England.
Hate the whole pile of C***s with a passion.

FA Cup games would now have to get played on Saturdays. So each time you win an FA cup game, it means the league match scheduled for the next round date has to get moved to a midweek fixture. Our home midweek fixtures have roughly 200 less attendees than our Saturday fixtures, as people have less time to watch matches midweek evenings than on weekend matches. So it will reduce our league income.

As matches can't go to replays there will be tons of penalty shoot outs to decide results, and a cup competition that turns into a penalty shoot out competition is crap.

As time goes on calculating managers will tell their players to keep it tight, and aim for a penalty shoot out. Like that bloody Taunton manager so clearly aiming for a draw. But soon lots of cup games would be like that.

The driving factor behind this is presumably playing less games to prevent player fatigue, but then it is up to managers to rotate their squads to save fatigue. PLay more youth players in cup games. This decision costs clubs lost replay revenue, players less appearance money, and less matches for fans to attend.

The only change I would like made is to change how prizemoney is shared, at the moment the winner of a round gets say £40K, the loser gets £0. I would much prefer the winner getting 3 quarters, the loser 1 quarter, then at least both sides are guaranteed to get something.

All this is why I have lost interest in watching Premier football, as it has no interest in the fans, so these sort of fan unfriendly decisions get made.

This bunch of FA tossers pissed me off so much I had to think of Dartford playing the mighty Hashtag next season to cheer myself up!

Just adding on, this is clearly aimed at protecting the Premier leading teams, who have European commitments, so tons of games. But they have massive squads, so can rotate players.

What makes this change so stupid, is that it comes into effect from the First Round, when the Premier teams only enter from the Third round. So it prevents the lower league teams match revenue from the First round onwards that they need.

You can see that the FA is doing damage limitation, by now saying all teams will benefit from the extra tv coverage of early round cup games, but they are making all this up as they go along, as the FA actually isnt the FA anymore, representing the needs of all teams, it is just driven by the self centred demands of the Premiership, so non league clubs were excluded from this and the first they knew of it was when it was broken publicly yesterday.

As I saw posted elsewhere 756 teams enter the FA cup. 20 teams consulted. This must be something the government football czar type person should be involved with.

Seen elsewhere the National League have written to member clubs supporting the changes. If this is so then those who run the league are totally out of touch with the member clubs and prove once again they are not fit for purpose.
