Really interesting article on Club Website re a new board to develop the growth of the club and involve supporters. Profiles of the Board members covering a wide range of skills. Very encouraging news.
Love it! Brilliant mix of representatives and experience. Thank you and congratulations to those who have stepped up voluntarily and thanks to the wider board for putting this opportunity in place. A huge positive step forward and so much opportunity for growth.
A small suggestion/recommendation for future growth (but actually is a massive point) is about BME representation - and I'm not talking about representation for representation sake. I'm often struck by the positive growing diversity of Welling as a place (although the growth figures are skewed by the demographic of Bexley), and the demographics of our players and those who represent our wider teams - then I look in the crowd and is not proportional by any stretch of the imagination. Its probably a national football issue but my point is...there is a duty to attract the audience of Welling and it would be interesting to understand any barriers.
Are you suggesting more white players to meet the supporting demographic? Everyone is welcome at Welling, and everyone is treated as equal, race, creed or colour. FFS, if someone non white wants to come, they will. Please dont go down this route. What I love about going Welling is not to have this PC bollocks rammed down my throat.
Take Dulwich Hamlet as an example, probably the most PC club in England, yet I bet we get more non-white supporters.
Dont try and dig for something that is already on the ground

The new operational board could end up being a tenplate for non league clubs in years to come. personally I believe the club can look to a brighter future with the experience and mix of the board. However it is upto us as fans to ensure we back them so we survive in both the short term and the long term. There is a thread on here about keeping an eye on the league, we also need to keep an eye on what is happening in lower leages as well. Read an interview last night with the chairman of Cray Wanderers. They expect their ground to be ready by the end of June. With the location at Flamingo Park virtually on the border of Greenwich, Bromley and Bexley he is looking to attract crowds of 1000. Obviously once our ground has been re built we will have facilities fit for the 21st Century. Meanwhile we need to ensure we attract those who may be tempted to stray to the other side of the A2 and A20.

I said exactly this to Mr Goldberg over 2yrs ago. With Cray getting a brand new ground, with some clever marketing (the oldest club in London etc etc), it will be very attractive to new and floating football fan's
