I was impressed with Kennedy's goal, I remember a player I used to watch who often shot from distance, but usually missed, and he didn't seem to have any desire to improve, just kept on shooting and missing and repeating his mistakes. Against Bath Kennedy had a shot that went to the side netting, against Farnborough in his next match he had pretty much an identically placed shot, but got it right this time, and that is great, what it is all about, taking responsibility and quickly learning from mistakes. I'm enjoying watching him test himself, taking on defenders and going for shots, rather than passing the buck onto others. You can spot players who are just coasting along, or who are really going for it, and maybe the penny is dropping with him. Dave Winfield is remarkable, kind of twice the age of some of our younger players, yet putting some of them to shame with the greater amount of effort he puts in. Great to see both getting credit.
