In addition to the fact we need to win to boost confidence having lost 11 of our last 14 there is also some decent prize money for winning tomorrow.
£3750 if we win tomorrow (£1,000 if we lose) plus at least £1,250 if we lose the next round. So basically it's worth £4,000 to us- a not insignificant amount especially after going straight out of the FA Cup earlier in the season.
Hopefully a decent crowd with a lack of other games on.

With Charlton, Millwall & Palace all not playing, this could have been a great opportunity to push for 1000 attendance with the right ticket prices and marketing (probably 8-900 more realistic).
£16 a ticket with our current form, we will be lucky to get 300.

As has been explained elsewhere gates are split between the two clubs and the FA themselves so we only get a third of the money minus expenses. And I believe all parties need to agree to price changes.
Tomorrow is about winning a football match, pocketing the prize money and getting some confidence for the very important four league games still to come this month
At this stage the receipts are split evenly between the two clubs, but are immediately subject to 20% VAT. Once you take off all the expenses (Havant's travel, match officials, stewards, first aid, floodlights etc) there's not a much left even if it's a half decent crowd. And, as pointed out, the admission charges are agreed. It's not easy, but I'm not sure it would have made much, if any difference, if we'd suggested £15 for adults on the day.

Have to agree with Luke here I think we missed a trick with marketing the game considering the internationals taking place. Short term thinking me thinks.
Pretty much a cut and paste from the Truro comment.
How Grant never got a start in a game with opponents of this level is beyond me.
Couple that with starting with one up front, leaves me scratching my head.
We just dont have the players to play attacking football out from the back.
To be honest, we just dont have players with the ability to hold and pass a ball whilst creating space for a return pass.

Long played up front, but didn't act like he was hoping to score, frequently failing to anticipate Chuckwu winning a flick on. He doesn't look like a player who scored 20 league goals last season. Might be time for him to move on- either permanently or on loan.
We looked better when we went with Redfern alongside Chukwu and went more direct. Chukwu is frustrating when he is missing chances but he does hold the ball up quite well and works hard closing the opposition down.
Garret Kelly played well and I think him and Anthony Grant can make a good defensive midfield.

Gk (lovett)aside not one player in this team will do better than playing for us at step 2 in their career. Usually we have 1 or 2 who have a good season and get moves higher up or for more money. Recruitment this season a disaster maybe only kelly today looked okay.
Manager can't do a lot with what he has imo. Don't think another manager gets anything different either. I think they do need to change the system to at least try and create more but otherwise needs some.£ invested into squad and to sack off the passenger players.
Another very hard watch and another deserved defeat to a lower league team in a cup competition.
At the risk of repeating myself it's the same story the last few weeks. A bloated squad full of average players. I think that's the third game in a row with five changes to the starting XI and it smacks of desperation rather than of any plan. Nobody can legislate for a goalkeeping error like that but we struggle to score one a game never mind two and, lest we forget, our goal yesterday was down to their defensive **** up more than anything else.
Got to add that I thought the interview was poor consistently throwing one player under the bus. I don't recall Reece Grant getting stick from the manager for missing a sitter every game nor other "strikers" this season who are frankly never in the right place to miss any chances in the first place..?! Destroying the already fragile confidence of young players seems a bizarre way to go about things....
Four huge league games between now and the end of the month starting on Tuesday night. I am hoping/praying we can find a couple of game changers like we did last season with Adigun and Fish that will prove to be real difference makers in the weeks ahead

I know that managers normally put a positive spin on proceedings, but from his interview, Rod was watching a different match to me! I fear for the future with anything but a win on Tuesday.

In three words I can sum up everything i've learnt in life; it goes on.
I've been a huge fan of the job of work Rod and Kev have done, and certainly resisted any calls for changing the manager again. Having said that, this is becoming a very tedious and difficult watch. At the start of the season I can remember sitting in the pub with Gav before the Aveley game and we said you could already tell this squad would struggle for goals, and so it has proved week after week. Rod has now mentioned it in god knows how many interviews but we're no closer to a solution. Last season Sonny Fish was that man, and unless we find another Sonny from somewhere, I feel this is going to be the same pattern for the entire season. Chuks does his best, but he's not a natural finisher. Just when you think he's our main striker, Rod drops him and puts Taylor-Crossdale back in (who I maintained from day 1, just isn't cut out to be a CF at this level).
Clearly the goalkeeping situation doesn't help and there have now been the sort of clangers you normally see in a Sunday pub league both against Eastbourne and again yesterday. However, we were losing when Rhys was in goal - yes, he's a very decent keeper and MOTM on multiple occasions but if you ain't scoring then his return is only part of the solution and we go back to the narrow losses we had when he was in goal
If we could only get a half decent league 1 or 2 reserve striker on loan for 1 month it would make a massive difference. When a team is low on confidence it needs someone to come in like Sonny did and start bagging those half chances and sitters. Elliot Long and Zain Walker can be impressive players on their day, as can Gene Kennedy but it becomes so demoralising as a midfielder if you create stuff and see it fluffed time and time again. When the very average oppo (sorry that's what Havant were) go down the other end and convert their first chance, the sinking feeling sets in
The other big issue as opposed to last year is the constant swapping of 5 or 6 players every week. Last season, the second half run was built around the same hardcore of 14-15 players, week in week out. This season I turn up and it feels like its literally drawing lots before the game to see who plays. Elliot Long - is he in or out? Chuks or MTC? Is it 3 centre halves or 2? I know injuries and suspensions haven't been great but there are also a lot of other changes around that. When you train twice a week at this level can you really get used to any sort of pattern of play or partnerships when there's a total turnover of the squad each week? I'd be a fan of letting 6-7 go and bringing in 3 top drawer players at this level. If injuries happen on a major scale then the academy lads would be needed. A calculated risk perhaps but what's the alternative? It can't be more of the same
A couple of sloppy goals conceded and out of the cup we go. At present this team doesn't have the goals in it to rectify defensive mistakes once we go behind if feels like we won't win but once two behind you know it's game over. The club desperately needs to find the solution to our goal scoring problem but is that player out there at a budget we can afford? I hope we get a win against Weymouth, away at Aveley and our traditional 1-0 against Tonbridge Angels. That would go a long way to ensuring there are 4 worse teams in the division than us.
Any update on how Zain Walker is? What even happened was it a head injury?
Yes, looked like a bad concussion. Was still being treated long after the game finished.
It would be nice to get better updates on players - I've heard that Rhys Lovett was having something made for his gloves so he could still play with broken fingers, however no official updates.
