Crayford is closing and the site is up for sale. Maybe the flats and football stadium plan for Welling is a better option over there with the large space? Welling & Crayford FC. Could build a decent stadium and fit in loads of flats.

Interesting thought but proximity to various clubs including they who should not be named would mean we would all be after the same fans. I would rather stay at PVR especially as its designated for sporting use and cannot have a mass of housing built on it.

Would be a better site for a club run academy set up.

That would need a large funding.
I would hate to guess what the initial purchase cost would be.
Convenient for the station and local buses though.
Also a decent bit of land with great potential.

Wasn't we touted by MG some time ago about the possibility of moving to Hall Place?

Reading a Facebook post about some of our fans going to Crayford yesterday got me thinking. Can you imagine the news shopper headline Welling United goes to the Dogs. Loose the first 6 games there for the headline Wruff start for Wing or Wings in Doghouse. On a serious note I would imagine the stadium will be developed for housing. Like all local authorities LB Bexley needs to ensure more homes are built for those in need. This is an ideal spot for housing without parking due to proximity of trains, buses and shops.

Squarevanmanthesecond - 'more homes built for those in need'.

Doubtful!

PVR is Welling's home so no. I know the owners want the ground to be turned into overpriced, ****ty flats but no to a move

I just struggle to see how PVR can be sustainable in todays world.
The ground itself could easily swallow up £3 - 4 million on an all weather pitch and general ground improvements.
The whole main stand needs pulling down and rebuilding. That's before we even dare to look at existing standing areas.
How would an investor recuperate that money?

As an aside, who owns the old union building and flats?
The only credible solution in my eyes would be to perhaps rejuvenate that plot, and forward think some retail on PVR with a terrace above?

This is a big ask though, but what Goldburg touted some time ago, tempting visiting professional clubs staying at the Marriott (Bexleyheath) with a decent Friday night training facility locally, must be worth looking into.

Apart from Hampton & Richmond, I cant think of any clubs at our level that have the constraints regarding additional building than we have.

Perhaps we could ask permission to change the cricket ground into a bowling green?
