3 penalties 2 for us 1 for them. Interestingly ref initially indicated a corner but loads of screaming from Phoenix and it looked like one of their players went to the lino. Ref had a chat to lino and red card issued. Hopefully someone close to that end can confirm it was justified.

This victory should hopefully give the lads a confidence boost.
As Kevin stated, the teams at Step 4 level can still be tough opponents. It was roughly this time last year when we lost 7-1 at Sevenoaks Town in the KSC (albeit with a weakened side but still with Paps & TJ). It looks tough for Phoenix Sports at the moment - they are bottom of the league and Ramsgate are top with a remarkable 66 goal swing between them. Some decent sides in that league which is why we must really get behind our boys and avoid relegation to Step 3 (the league above Phoenix)
Bath at home and Salisbury away. Realistically, we need to win one of these games. We are capable of doing this but praying for no more injuries!
An entertaining game but also very frustrating! In the first half, despite the bad pitch we were excellent. It looked like there were more than two leagues between the sides and we really should have been more than 2-0 up.
The attitude at the start of the second half was all wrong. Players acting like they'd already won it, having a laugh, trying to do too much on the ball and I had a bad feeling that if Phoenix got one we could be in trouble.
The lack of intensity and urgency was alarming.
Once TJ got sent off it could have gone either way and it was lucky Phoenix are a poor side. Why they try to play out from the back is a mystery to me. Passing the ball around is definitely not one of their strengths so to try and do it in front of their own goal is madness.
Thankfully it got us a couple of penalties, which were expertly dispatched by Long.
Their third goal was an absolute screamer! The left back struck it as sweet as anything and it went like a rocket into the top corner.
Thankfully we held on and we've got a semi final to look forward to but we'll need a steep improvement to get wins in our next couple of games which are vitally important for our season.
We were very professional in the first half and could/should have been more than two ahead. Second half however was a different story. It looked like the ball had been replaced with a lump of concrete as our defenders seem scared of heading it..?! Every ball into our box felt like it could lead to a chance. Credit to our lads for digging in at 2-2 but the reason we won the game was more down to them turning into Tottenham for 10 minutes and gifting us two penalties. The young left back looked a good athlete but his positioning and decision making went awry at times.
I wouldn't expect too many that started on Tuesday to start against Bath but we will need a big step up in performance levels from how we finished the game on Tuesday
