Bath must have had 80% of the ball, but the guys stuck in there and were resilient, great result

A lot of their possession was sideways and back. Good defending by Welling.

I expect the National league sent a lady ref who lives in Bexleyheath and works for Howard. Apparently thats allowed.

Thought Martell had a good game. Played well out of position as a left winger, or so it appeared.
Came in for a lot of stick by some care in the community kind of bloke behind the goal.
Totally unjustified in my opinion.

We deserved that following the away game to this lot.

Dont think the time wasting changes do us any favours, as it upsets the team and the time gets added anyway.

For the sake of a further 5 mins, just crack on.

See you at sailsbury.

That was a big three points today. Wasn't a good game by anyone's standards but defended ok the second half. MTC out wider I wasn't sure about but with Redfern up central I suppose it had to be done.  Started the first half better than the second, just hope we gain some confidence after a win and a clean sheet.

Someone said to me before the game we need at least 4 points out of next 3 games. Great to get a start and lets hope we can continue in next games. From our X I see referee only dished out 3 yellow cards today 2 to us 1 to Bath. Makes a nice change, our favourite lady ref managed 7 at Eastbourne today.

Trust me its got FA to do with balls. So what did Martell do that was so wrong yesterday, that drove you to the point of busting facial blood vessels?

The bloke was playing out of position as a left midfielder, worked hard and had some nice touches about him.

Do you really think it helps with you constantly screaming at him?

Serious question.

The proverbial "six pointer" yesterday and good to come out on the right side of it.

You could see why Bath are one of the lowest scorers in the league. Their approach play was quite good and they stretched us a few times. Once again we were indebted to our goalkeeper for a couple of excellent saves and a very good finish at the other end by our centre forward. Second half they actually threatened less and we defended well but didn't have enough threat on the break. A good team effort with Burchell and Bramble the standouts for me.

We did have a couple of square pegs in round holes but the game plan worked and everyone put in a shift. Having said that I expect EVERY player that pulls on a WUFC shirt to put in a shift and that should be a given. There are players that have played hundreds of games for this club, and were far less talented than some of those out there yesterday, who worked their socks off each and every game. As such I think we need to set the bar a bit higher than a "few nice touches" to constitute someone having a good game....

On to Salisbury which will be a tough one but hopefully another resilient performance and a point or three! We need to get Johnson and Martin back fit (and then keep them fit...) and we will have a few more options to select from.

Up the Wings!

If you plan on quoting someone, at least get the context correct.
Worked hard and had some nice touches about him hardly equates to few nice touches.
Agree with our keeper having a good game and think him being back has a positive influence on the back 4/5.

Thought the officials were also good, allowed the game to flow and generally unseen/heard.

We had Elliot Long on the bench who is far better suited to playing on the left of midfield. When he came on for Zain on the right he was excellent. I have no idea if left midfield is Martells best position although his one goal for us against Aveley was by cutting in from the left and shooting with his right.

I don't criticise players for lack of quality, only lack of effort.

I was standing to the side, and thought Martell was anonymous, and at times looked lost. He is so frustrating, but second half he got more involved. Didn't hear specific abuse, but a lot of head in hands and shaking of heads when touches and passes went awry. COYW.

Interesting why in a team that has got a result the same sort of performance from MTC is seen as an improvement. I didn't think walker was great yesterday either and it's not the first game our front 3/4 players haven't created much. Be interesting to see how redfearn would do with some decent service.

Looking at the squad for Saturday and hearing Rod Stringer comments after the game, the area which leaves me confused is we saw a full/wing back by the name of Junior Nkwonta making his debut against Phoenix and I can confirm he played very well and will make a good addition to the squad. Yet on Saturday we named Chori on the bench who it would appear to be still unfit and there was no intention of putting him on. What has happened to Nkwonta who would have been a far better choice at this time. Has he gone already?
