I know personally two people who have this awful illness so I will be participating on both the Friday and the Saturday morning (which incudes Bromley to Welling United and Welling to Charlton Athletic). Paul Barnes has recruited some board members and club officials to join at least one of those legs and others have shown an interest.
If anyone wants to be a part of this (over 400 have registered including 35+ former pro footballers), and has not yet signed up, I urge you to do so immediately as registration closes on 16th February. Some legs are short so you don't have to commit to walking miles, and even the Bromley to Welling part is two legs (Bromley to New Eltham, New Eltham to Welling) so you can start at New Eltham if you wish. It would be good to see a healthy Welling contingent involved.
Hi Mark. I have signed up to do the Welling to Charlton leg of the walk with my son. Our T-shirts arrived this week so we're ready to go!! Happy to tag along with others from "Team Welling" doing this leg.
You may have seen on BBC this morning that this event has started today. I am walking two stages this evening before joining 'Team Welling' tomorrow, walking from Bromley FC to Welling United. It appears that there will be a decent Wings contingent and there are a number who have Just Giving pages. If anyone is in the Welling area at 10:00ish tomorrow, it would be great to see you at the ground.
Should anyone else wish to add their page on this thread, it would be great. It doesn't concern me whether it's mine or someone else's that receives donations as they all go to the same cause.
Thank you, thank you, thank you to everyone who has donated to the cause. I appreciate it enormously and will wear my orange shirt one last time tomorrow.
This time last week, I was walking through South West London ahead of the Bromley to Welling walk twelve hours later. It was good to see the other Welling supporters who took part as well. I've written a little blog type piece below.
If anyone else still wants to donate, it's not too late. No amount is too small and the cost of a coffee, beer or glass of wine would be accepted with gratitude.
