Didnt see much of last nights game but from comments I have seen elsewhere if we play like last night we will be ok for next 9 league games. Would like to know thoughts only we never get a lot of feedback on here when we win.

We beat Bromley crèche 2-1 thanks to a penalty. Our captain who played last night is suspended for the next three or four games and our winner was scored by someone who should be nowhere near the pitch on Saturday.

So there is absolutely zero relevance from last night to what may, or may not, happen on Saturday....

I sit corrected.

The fact remains that we will have to play a different centre half combination of two/three centre halves this weekend and on Tuesday yet we started last night with a player that can't play in either of those games....

Ridiculous, a few decent patterns of play in the second half against a team of kids and we had them under pressure for a while but they were kids, who had a couple of chances themselves.

Whilst we had some nice passing there was also some that was woeful and a couple of players that still didn't even look being close to good enough.

Thanks for confirming that. The manager's comments implied that his captain was coming into the game on nine yellow cards which would have meant that his first took him up to ten and a ban (two games) then his dismissal triggered an automatic one match ban with another added for a second dismissal. We must be close to the ten yellow cut-off now. Hopefully, when he is back, the amnesty will be in place.

My thoughts:

As others have said, this was a very different Welling team. Although several players in the young Bromley side have beaten Dartford and run Ebbsfleet close, losing on penalties, in the Kent Senior Cup, they are nowhere near comparable to the teams that Welling are due to face in the league. Technically, they were quite good, streetwise, definitely lacking.

I feel that, as Gavin suggested, the back line who will be playing at Farnborough could have played together but maybe it's not certain yet, depending on the fitness of Dan Martin.

One person who probably did give Rod Stringer 'food for thought' was Sahid Kamara. I thought that he made an impact when he came on at Truro and he ran the young Bromley back line ragged.

The cut off was 9th March.

My understanding is the booking doesn't count towards the 5, 10, 15 bookings suspension where there's a red card for a second booking. So in this instance the record still shows 9 current bookings. The 2 game suspension relates to the sending off.

There are rules about multiple suspensions but I'm assuming it's where a player is booked for the 5th, 10th or 15th time but then gets a straight red.
