If we wait until the end of the season to replace the manager then it means it's likely the whole squad will move on. I think quite a few of them could be decent players for us in the league below so that would be a shame. We need to start thinking about next season now, or we could go down again.

Lets not beat around the bush we fully deserve our relegation. This has been on the horizon for a number of years. As a football club we have just stood still perhaps even regressed as other clubs progressed and move past us. Lets hope dropping down a division helps us. What a waste the success we enjoyed towards the end of last season has turned out to be.

Completely agree with what Spills has said.

Is the club in a better place since Goldberg showed his original development plans nearly 9 years ago?

The ground is falling apart, and the amount of times recently I've seen pictures of rubbish left all over the ground. It's a shambles. I know there have been plans in the past to redevelop parts of the ground and/or get a 3G pitch put in place via football foundation money, and this was stopped because it would prevent the development going ahead due to the terms of being given foundation money, but with hindsight, we should have gone with that.

My worry is if we are relegated, I fear we will be fighting relegation against next season. I'm very concerned for the club over the next few years

Unfortunately, one of the issues was that there wasn't funding available for a 3G pitch, as it's a separate pot of money.

i agree with the comments above. I fear for the club in the next couple of seasons. I think we will struggle if/when we go down. Up the Wings.

The day Goldberg rocked up and got his grubby hands on our club was the start of the downfall. Weve been with the exception of the Steve King era been fighting relegation every season since. The current squad is the most inept bunch of lets face losers that have represented the club in 25 years. Their inability to score goals and defend is quite shocking. No backbone. None of them really care whether they win ( whats win? ) or lose. After last seasons finish which was very entertaining and enjoyable we all thought this season would be a comfortable mid table finish. How wrong we were. Foiled by this bunch of no hopers and in some cases serial relegation fodder. Useless completely useless. They ought to be ashamed of themselves. The end of season awards will be interesting if anyone can be bothered to attend. Player of the season. Do me a favour.

The mentality of players, their body language when we concede or go a goal down is imo concerning. There is clearly some talent in a very small % of the squad ala the likes of Kennedy who I would assume will get a gd move in the summer despite the seldom glimpses we've seen. Overall though squad hasn't been fit for purpose and while totally think rod has lost grip he isn't the first manager since king so clearly root of issues not just manager/coaching related.

It's become hard to actually 'support' welling. It's more just a place to go watch cheap ok standard level of football

If we go down ( which I'm sure we will )we can revisit some of the old grounds from the past, such as Folkestone, Lewis,Whitehawk Canvey etc etc. I hope to be back soon, as my hip is taking longer to heal than expected.
