This is an excellent message to send at this time. It shows Howard is committed to the club long-term and is planning for the future.
I think the artificial pitch will help our finances hugely, bringing in a constant revenue stream. Yes, ideally globally should be played on grass but we don't have the resources to maintain a top quality grass pitch. Also, it will help bring in new supporters - kids using the facility may well be encouraged to come to watch the club's games.
Lastly, the refinement of the redevelopment plans is most welcome. The original plans were obviously done by someone who doesn't understand non-league fans' requirements - reasonable end terraces and the ability to switch ends at half time. If a better balance between the flats/shops and football ground can be developed, all the better.
In the short term it looks like we'll have to go down, regroup and try to come back on a more solid footing.
