Absolutely magnificent performance from the 5th minute to the last. Well drilled from Brian, and you could tell forcing Worthing into a long ball game because of the pitch removed a lot of their attacking threat. 2 goals, one from a set piece and another from a rapid turnover was how you win football games down the bottom, and we did it to a T.
We're obviously nowhere near safe and sound when it comes to league position, but being 5 points off safety rather than 8 is gonna install a lot of belief in the players.
First of all, congratulations to the team, good result and good performance by all, two well-taken goals and a few great saves by Reece. However, according to the Worthing Fans forum, someone has mentioned, that some of their supporters were verbally abused including homophobic comments and eggs being thrown in their direction as they headed to the train station allegedly. If this is true and it turns out to be welling supporters the club needs to at least release a statement and call it out in my view.

Later post on Worthing forum states they were Millwall kids who attended the game. Irrespective of who they were it puts WUFC in a bad light and I will forward to WUSA committee watsapp for it to be taken up.

Whoever they were, if it really happened it was outside the ground so what could WUSA do about it?

Tutt and shake their heads furiously. Don't by any means condone silly behaviour but at least we had some noise for welling today

Raise it with club and request a statement be put out. Cant win if WUSA sat back and did nothing then we would be crititised by someone else. Irrespective of it happening outside the ground it still reflrcts badly on our club.

I was unable to attend the game yesterday so I listened to the Worthing commentary. The commentators were pretty shocked as to how well Welling Utd played. Not as shocked as the Welling Utd fans. Why cant our squad at least put in a similar performance week after week instead of the lack lustre, no passion stuff we have been served up all season. Beating top of the league Worthing will mean nothing unless it is backed up over the next six league games. Lets do it. COYW.

WUSA did nothing when a previous management team threatened our own supporters so I hardly think they will get involved here...!
Back to the subject of this thread. A great all round performance yesterday which we managed to sustain for more than one half although I think we might have put some fresh legs on a little earlier than we did. From the first whistle we were at it and looked hungry all over the pitch and a far cry from how we finished the game on Tuesday night. Every player contributed - our keeper made a couple of great saves when called upon, the defence did well, Kamara was a huge threat and obviously Kennedy with two goals. Despite all that my personal motm was Sam Cornish who had two assists and whose general play was excellent throughout. This manager seems to have found some decent combinations and let's see if he has the courage to stick with the same team next weekend...
I still feel yesterday could be too little too late but a few more performances like yesterday and you just never know. It's the hope that kills you!

Indeed. That was the reason I stepped down because of no statement from WUSA or the club.
Great result yesterday! Including a poor goal difference we are 6 points from safety. Ideally we need at least 4 wins from our last 6. It's going to be tough, but after yesterday's result who knows. I'm back for the last game of the season so hopefully we are still in with a chance of staying up!
Really hoping that we can go on a bit of a run and still get out of this.
