Utter rubbish from minute 1 and a result to match. No urgency, no intensity and simply no will to try and win the game after winning a useless cup midweek.
Sorry to be rude, but that is absolutely intolerable for players to go through the motions when survival could've been 4 points away with a win today.
Howard, Mason need to gut almost all this squad next season and replace them with younger and more hungry players who see the clubs ethos and motto more than those players on the field today.
So dreadful today. I'm almost beyond words. I just don't understand how we didn't speed things up and try to get something. So slow and no one hurried each other up when we were fighting for our lives.

Another game at PVR which I felt was there for the taking but once again we came up short. What really frustrated me (and plenty of others) was the apparent lethargy from everyone involved. It felt like I must have missed us scoring at some point as we seemed to be playing for time the longer the game went on. Our substitutes just ambled on and off, our keeper took forever over restarts and there was no urgency on the pitch or from the sidelines which was extremely baffling...?! And there was no imagination in the changes - just like for like and hoping something might happen rather than trying to make it happen. A draw was never going to be good enough and I would rather lose the game by throwing caution to the wind and trying to win it!!
And then I hear in the interview that the lads were really motivated for the game yesterday...?! Well, if that's them really motivated then I hope I'm not watching a game when they don't give a s**t!!
It's like a slow painful slide towards the inevitable and nobody seems willing or able to stop it....
Steve King was at the game and indicated that he was interested in the job. If that is that case we should snap his hand off. Its well documented that he had a decent budget but he built his own team from scratch and only missed out on promotion to two very good sides in Torquay and Woking. Every other season we have struggled in the South since coming down from the National. We probably need to go back to being a proper part time side with evening training and some more experienced players. King would give everyone a lift and help sell season tickets and sponsorship over the summer months.

If the budget was stipulated in black and white then maybe, otherwise I can tell you it won't be happening

Agree with Nigel, Mark Goldburg increased the budget for Steve King almost from day one when he was aware what it was when taking the job.
Chris agree about evening training. We would be able to get better players as the pool who prefer evenings is larger.

I can't believe that wouldn't be the case with all managers. All signings need to be authorised by by the Secretary and if its over the weekly budget then its refused.

Steve King would be a good choice in my opinion, but is there enough money in the budget this summer to allow for him to succeed? I'd assume Mason's investment is gonna require us to be sustainable, because Howard's investment has piled lots of debt that is gonna be hard to pay off with 1 investor that Howard promised.
King is gonna have a lot more pressure than any other managers who come in the summer as well due to what he did a few years ago, and speaking to some fans his role seems divided. Undeniably a huge risk.
I was initially interested in King coming back. But as another supporter said today, we need someone to be at this club for 5 years, to build stability and grow each season, like Jamie Day did. King doesn't stay at clubs for more than a season or 2 generally.

The only reason he stayed so long was because he was successful but he nearly left of his own accord on a couple of occasions.
I liked Danny Bloor, he would be better if we were to have a link to the academy again and he worked well on a tight budget.
Another possible contender is Jamie Coyle who has just taken Whitstable to the Vase Final and has gained more experience since his first spell with us.

Danny Bloor is a really nice bloke but Im sorry hes not a coach or a manager to lead us back to either this league if we do go down or to the National if we stay up. Got to agree with Polo about King. I was never one of his biggest fans and he would cause Howard to have a heart attack when he over spends. As much as we would love Daisy to come back I believe hes still at fake wombles doing a decent job. Im pretty sure our board will do its very best to get a decent candidate in place asap who can get a team up and running ready for pre season.

King would get my vote. Be a good lift at a rubbish time. If he can't work within the budget on offer then don't explore it further. Tbh rod didn't work to the budget did he? How many players been through the door this season.
Think we need someone with contacts and knows the divisions unless we have a better recruitment strategy in place. In that case be quite happy with Kevin Watson, as more a head coach.
I still can't believe the stick Steve King has received round these parts. I don't care if his ego is bigger than him (wouldn't be hard), football is an entertainment business as well as a results business and the football we played under him was the best I've seen. Sorry 2012 team, King's brand of football was even better and the teams who denied as promotion were better than the Salisbury team of 2012. We were seriously unlucky to run into the professional outfits of Torquay and Woking that season
A manager will spend whatever he's given - if you can't afford it, don't give it to him! Always makes me laugh when football fans blame the manager for spending too much - in any other walk of life or business, the owners/directors set the financial budgets and managers operate within the constraints they set. If King doesn't like the budget, then he wouldn't join. If he does, and he spends it, then its the owners choice how much that budget is. His job is to make a successful team from the funds given to him - whether that budget is £4k or £14k per week should be of no relevance to him and he shouldn't be involved in club finances.
We all know we have a hardcore support of 400-500 who will attend no matter what. There are then fans like me in the second group who take the attendance from 500 to 1000 depending on how they feel towards the team, manager, board of the time. If King was made manager and came anywhere close to doing what he did before, watch the crowds grow. Managers like Goldberg, Feeney and the Rod of this season strangled all that optimism out of us. Bloor just didn't seem to have the minerals for the job - sad as he was a great bloke (unlike Feeney who had no redeeming features at all!)
You reap what you sow. Appoint someone playing a dire brand of football, expect 400-500, put a smile on fans faces and start getting back to that aspiration of 1,000
Had a chat with Steve King at half time, wasn't there for a interview or anything to do with the vacant post unfortunately but he did say he would take it and he loved his time with us.
As for the day itself, I was running a few minutes late, bought my ticket online whilst walking past crook log, get to the gates at 3:04PM to find not one person on the turnstiles and nobody around to stop people just walking in as I and my mate did unchallenged. Has this been common practice all season? Surely you would have someone there till at least 3:15 and then at least have someone there checking, just seems there is always something not right. To perform on the pitch the club has to perform off it in which as usual it is failing to do so.

I know at least one person was directed to outside bar to pay entrance fee. I let another in who had a season ticket as I was taking Smudge out for his break. Gates were left unlocked with no turnstile operators until 3.30. I have been doing a lot of ground hopping this season and apart from free entry grounds in Kent Leagues turnstiles seem to have operators until half time.
