To many ballerz and not enough bite in this side. No nasty bastard type player especially in the midfield which is what you need especially at this level. 3 defeats against sides who wont be better than mid table come the end of season is a concern. Martin has a lot of work cut out is he up to it? Time will tell

Absolutely shocking today, and I have got home still in disbelief about quite how poor that was. Players looked lost and almost bewildered as to how we would score a goal, and the game ended up similar to Aveley, where almost every passage of play became a wild scrap for the ball which Lewes excelled at whilst we struggled.
People will allocate the blame differently, but the buck lays at the management team and the playing squad. The pitch is an absolute travesty, but that is of no fault of anyone at the club, who have tried their best to deal with it, but it makes play no easier.
There is no excuse for anyone on the pitch today. Lewes are no world beaters and yet again, they are a side that came to PVR with the sole intention of scrapping it out, which they did better than the Home Team. Shocking.
Whether Martin has to go is up to personal opinion, but being in step 3, there won't be much patience anymore to tolerate another long rebuild that history shows almost always fail at Welling.
The start to this season has been an absolute nightmare, and it has not been helped with the same old plaguing issues that seem to affect Welling every year.
If this is not sorted within the next few weeks, Martin is surely finished at this club.
that was horrendous! Simmons, Antonio and Cundle we're hopeless in particular and don't really seem to be capable at this level. The only positives today were Paxman who is head and shoulders above everyone else, also the new lad on loan Holley looked good when he came on.
When Lee Martin got announced I thought it was a bad move to appoint a manager with no experience with the current state of play at the club, people are well within reason to say give lee Martin time but for me it's quite evident how this is going to end up.
I wouldn't be surprised if we go 6 out of 6 without a point

Rod Stringer back anyone?
I completely agree with everything you say but the new lad Holley is an actual signing not a loan.
The three teams we have played have been nothing special yet we have lost all of them. The manager is completely out of his depth. The crowds will soon dip below 400.

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh When the Wingssssss
We started the game really well and looked sharp going forwards. Then we lost our way and couldn't find any passes to each other. Far too early to be getting on the managers back. It's only been 3 games!

This part of the season is full of nice weather and optimism, but when it starts pissing it down and blowing a gale and we are firmly in relegation trouble I think you're right - probably c. 300.
The patience of many has been tested for so long, pretty much ever since King left. Under Goldberg it was horrific and had it not been for the COVID season we'd have been at this level long ago. Since then its been a series of scrapping it out seasons, with Rod and Kev bailing us out of something that was 90%+ looking like relegation. The miracle couldn't continue forever. However, this is a new low. I could understand the appointments of Bloor and Stringer, and for that matter Brad Quinton, but this fella takes the biscuit. I don't care about people saying he needs more time or calling out those agitating for change - there's a phrase in business which is essentially "don't be afraid to fail fast". Everything looks wrong about this bloke - his post match interview cries of a desperately unhappy man, way out of his depth and not enjoying life at all. His philosophy is staggeringly naive and those saying give him more time need to really ask themselves if they are confident that an upturn in fortunes is round the corner. From the players we've signed, his own lack of experience and this ridiculous obsession with playing out from the back, by the time we give him enough time, what will that look like? 0 points from 6 games, 5 points from 12 games? How long before he leaves us in a Bloor type position, playing for snookers and praying for a miracle?
Fail fast and make the change. If he guides us to a safe position I'll be the first to hold my hands up and say I was wrong, and I pray that he does. However, the way I'm seeing it we are heading out of this division in a hurry and could be effectively relegated if its allowed to carry on beyond Christmas
I'm not sure about Rod. He looked a totally different man after he had the family bereavement. I remember speaking to him at Eastbourne and he just looked shot to pieces - it had clearly had a devastating impact on his family and I felt for him. Prior to that he had proven himself to be a real street fighter and achieved something that looked impossible. Who knows if he could ever get back to that?
Thanks Chris, Holley being permanent is a bonus and looked quite good.
Totally agree with the above treacle, for those saying it's far too early clearly can't see a massive iceberg in front of us with Martin in charge, after watching he's post match interview he looks a defeated man out of ideas already! as it stands I can't see him making it past September
FYI I'll be the first one to hold my hands up and say I've got it wrong if we have an upturn in fortunes!
