Well that was $hit, lets make no excuses.
The first half, looked like the better team although going a goal down.
Expectations being we regroup and pick up on how we can improve.
WTF gets said at HT, because we done exactly the same at Chichester.
The difference being we rode our luck and got a late winner, today we never.
That pitch is ucking awful.
Absolutely abysmal from the players in the 2nd half. What was in the 1st half a real sign of promise turned into the same old scrappy gameplay we have seen all too often at PVR, with the same old defensive mistakes to match.
A poor poundland squad apart from a few players such as John and Jack Paxman, who seem the only ones able to fashion anything for this abysmal team as a unit.
A management team who seemingly have no idea how to turn around games, relying on the same old happy clappy fans giving them praise and time for absolutely nothing in return.
Losing to teams such as Cray Valley PM 3-0 would have been virtually unthinkable 3 years ago even under Goldberg. Now it has become sadly expected and a typical fashion of Welling.
If we go out the FA Cup on Saturday, Martin should resign. The humiliation can't continue like this.
We played well in the first half and only a couple of good saves from their keeper and a missed penalty stopped us from taking something into the break. Even their goal looked slightly fortuitous as the ball appeared to take a freak bounce on our disaster of a pitch.
In the second half after they scored, from yet another defensive mistake, they just parked the bus and we had zero creativity to break them down.
Paxman is the fulcrum and when he plays deep, we look better defensively and when he plays further forward we look better going forward!! Pity we didn't have 2 of him!
Ufuah worked his socks off but struggled with CVPM sitting so deep and not giving him the space to get in behind in the second half.
It's depressing to lose 3-0 to a team that played zero football, but after the FA Cup and Dulwich, we've got Hashtag and Canvey Island which should be winnable matches!
If things haven't turned round by then, that's when the panic will really set in.
A new low for this club, since Goldberg had taken over a decline has set in , false promises and nothing delivered, we should have had a new stadium and pitch by now.
I'm trying to be patient and give the team time to gel, but it's hard to stay positive after what we watched today.
We've played five matches and lost four. We haven't scored a goal in our three home matches.
I'm still not clear what formation we're meant to be playing, and I'm not sure the team does either; all I can see is a massive hole in front of Paxman. We looked a little more secure in the middle when Hamilton came on.
We look good going forward, but only in ten minute spells; we've yet to look good for 60 minutes, let alone 90+.
Most of the goals conceded have come from errors and failing to take opportunities to clear.
We're playing too many Hollywood passes that aren't coming off, and giving the ball away too cheaply.
John Ufuah looks head and shoulders above everyone else, but we barely got the ball to him second half.
The new groundsman has done a great job to try to fix the awful pitch, but sadly it's still not great.
so disappointing to lose that today, I sympathise with the team and Lee because if Ruben scores that penalty to make it 1-1 it's a different game! then Freddie Norman's clanger to make it 2-0 Cray Valley just shut up shop. I've still got some faith that we can start getting some results soon
I'd like to see James dyer have a go up front as he was prolific at Erith Town and loves to get he's head up at goal, Ruben is so inconsistent and at times doesn't offer much
An experienced centre half through the door wouldn't go a miss
Start Hamilton Antonio in front of the defence and let JP get forward
just my two pence worth and hopefully we can get through to the next round of the FA cup
Agree with NIJ...Dulwich away will be very very tough but if we can't beat Hashtag and Canvey we're in big trouble
