Good display today by the players, much more energetic and lively than many believed we would be. Exceptionally unlucky not to score 2 goals in the 1st half, the ball that flashed across the goal and when Ruben hits the post, both massive moments that could have put us ahead.
Then we get hit by a suckerpunch before half time, really poor goal to concede at the worst time from a set piece.
But the 2nd half we came out and we took the game to them, albeit with very minimal quality except for Ruben's 1 on 1 which again we really had to score from.
Conditions did not help from the 70th minute, and the timewasting got worse with the gk making a meal out of the time he had on the ball.
But great spirit from the players to keep going, and Zac's run was absolutely massive in making the ref call for the penalty, which was dispatched.
A replay at Slough midweek is not the best outcome, but it is testament to the fighting spirit of the team.
