A truly awful day for the football club, but sadly another timely culmination of 12 years worth of neglect and utter incompetence from start to finish. The football club has totally lost its soul and everything that once went with it. We are no longer a proud National League club, but a shell of the past, riddled by poor decision makin, year after year after year.
Folkestone are simply better than us in every sense of the word. Better stability, better players, better everything. They totally schooled us tonight almost laughing at our route 1 football, sweeping it all up whilst looking dangeous almost every time rhey came forward. Their set piece routines completely caught us out, leading to 2 awful back post goals because of poor marking.
Rod can bark orders all he wants, but the players simply are not abiding by his orders. How can you concede possession in the middle of the park so often and then fail to defend set pieces on 2 instances, one of the most well drilled and crucial aspects of non league football.
The people running the football club have to look at themselves hard in the mirror as well. They have got everything disastrously wrong, the pitch preparation was absolutely dire at the start of the season, they keep signing players and then ship many of them off within a few weeks leading to the constant merry go round of players coming and going. It almost defines Welling now as a club, everyone just laughs at us for it.
Absolutely no one can now deny the football club needs a total snd utter reset from top to bottom. Howard needs to appoint a proper footballing manager in the next few weeks, not a nobody, a proper character who can turn these players from boys to men fast.
No more inteference at any level of recruitment from Winchester, leave it to Rich and the manager. Simples.
I say this in the hopes this wakes the people running the football club fast. If we don't act, relegation is almost certain if this continues.
The nest month well and truly will decide the future of this club.
Abysmal performance, worst thing about is that wasn't even a Folkestone who really turned up..rock solid defensively and very good on the break. It's crystal clear the whole team including the new loan players weren't interested in Rod and the other two just screaming and swearing at them every 10 seconds
Going off of Rod's interview last night it's going to be he's final game Saturday with a new manager expected for next week, it is an absolute must win.
I hope whoever is coming in knows what he's coming into and has a nice black book of players he can call because he'll certainly need it!

Wonder what shirt number we're going to reach with another manager and group of players coming in...
