Must win game absolutely as cpUTW has said. Players must surely be more motivated to respond as well, considering that a new manager would certainly be watching for motivation and commitment levels as minimum requirements for their squad choices when they take over.
Think it will be a close game, maybe we edge it but looking at our recent form I would not bank on it.
They played like dogs ****. We couldn't even score for ourselves. That said it all.. Another thing, no bar staff in the clubhouse ! No heating on either. How do we expect to attract anyone to come in to the ground and watch ??
Well my first game of the season, and that was woeful.
The number 10 the best player on the pitch by a country mile. How Femi stayed on for the 90 minutes is baffling. He was so ineffective.
I cannot get the love for Stringer. We were relegated last season when he was manager for 95% of it, and last season was constant chop and changing of players from week to week. Today was 7 changes from the last game. People were saying he's a "Proper manager" but what happened last year!
The club is in a mess. It's easy to say but the managerial appointment has to be right. We need someone experienced, who can get the players in and find a system just to survive this season. It says a lot when we are talking about surviving in this league, and losing games to Burgess Hill Town, Hashtag United and Folkestone.
Back at Christmas, and hopefully we will be in a much better position by then, but it's very concerning looking at the league table.

Irrespective win, loose or draw like a lot I will support the team come hell or highwater. However I want the same from the players. I expect them to support us by playing their guts out to the best of their ability. I am afraid the majority of the current squad have ability but only to play at step 9 (Kent League division 2 being our nearest at that level). Certainly the majority of players do not have ability to play at step 3 and are going to drag us down to step 4 next season. Whoever our new manager is they are going to have one of the toughest jobs anyone has had at our club. I wish them and the probable 15 players they will need to bring in good luck.

I would suggest not good enough from top to bottom.
What I don't get is appointing an interim manager, then waiting four weeks before advertising for a permanent manager. In that time we have seen wholesale changes to the squad and seven defeats, exiting three cups in that period. Presumably when Rod was invited to be interim manager, there wasn't a consideration he should have the job permanently? Surely this recruitment process should have been started as soon as Lee was moved on, or did we have to wait for a, "singing from the previous song sheet" CEO to be appointed to approve the ad?
Don't think I shall ever understand the runnings, only the ruinings of a non league football club.
At this moment in time we are in a brutal run of form that is seemingly not going to get better until we get new ideas and fresh faces in the door. Compared to the absolute travesty we saw against Folkestone, we actually played alright in the 2nd half today, and I really do believe that with just a few run of wins we can get up that table fast.
At the end of the day, football is an unpredictable sport with many ups and downs. The next managerial appointment could completely transform the football club from top to bottom. If we got someone in like Gary McCann, there would be that knowhow and experience at this level and above to get the best out of the current set of players we have.
The biggest problem with Rod's appointment is that it has brung a style of football that is totally unrealistic for the needs of the squad in all due respect. Under Martin we seemed to be set on playing out the back as much as possible, only bombing it forward when a forward made a run behind the opposition defence, but the fine margins and poor defending ultimately made it unsustainable. Under Rod it has essentially been almost entirely route 1 football, the GK blasting it long for the CF such as Akinwande to try and get flick ons and hold the play up, but it is so badly executed on the pitch. The biggest example is when we lose the ball we seem to leave oceans of space behind our backline and most teams zip a few diagonals or balls into those channels and they are suddenly in dangerous attacking zones.
I can't blame Rod or Martin for all the bad results at the club this season as the teething issues plaguing the club long pre daes both of them. The recruitment is dire and it won't get any better with a new manager certain to bring in over a dozen more players to fit their squad, leading to the players signed count this season ticking up to over 50 surely by Christmas. There is also a wide variety of issues that need solving, but yelling them out here does not suddenly solve them, and we need to give time for reforms to be made in the football club for them to be dealt with fully.
I can't see us getting relegated even with the amount of games we are losing because we will surely hit a good run of form eventually, it is bound to happen. Big few weeks coming up now. Potentially could be make or break.
Don't even know what to say anymore, relegation is pretty much certain...can't see how anyone comes in and turns this around with this lot, the Lee Martin appointment has killed us.
tbh we should've won today, we had the chances but the defence and keeper were toilet again! burgess Hill were a poor team and as someone else said, if we'd played the ball on the floor a bit more we would've created a bit more and had the chances.
Playing route 1 doesn't suit this team whatsoever, run out of things to say...hope everyone's ready for VCD and Erith Town away! attendances are shrinking weekly...just dire
Does anyone out there with a bit of money truly love Welling United FC ?
If so please make yourselves known as I really fear the club is finished in its current guise. Howard seems like a well intended fella but truth be known his era of control has presided over the biggest period of decline in the club's history. Is he honestly getting any joy out of it now? Just seems like a merry go round of managerial appointments, failed commercial partnerships, a decaying ground with no end in sight and a revolving door of players. What can he possibly stand to gain from clinging on? It must be painful for him and I don't see anyone connected with the club enjoying it either - the manager, the players and certainly not the fans.
It's truly heartbreaking and its going to get worse. I haven't been able to get over the relegation to this level and the manager appointed to supposedly start the revival.....let alone contemplating going the level below this one. It was great being the team that punched above their weight in the Conference/National League - now its like being punched on the nose by anyone and everyone
Not in step 3 or step 4. It is a competition for step 5 and 6 in the NLS so 600 teams. Therefore the earliest we could enter is 2027/28 season which would entail 3 consecutive relegations which I am confident will not occur.
